Jen that is shocking! After care seems to be so hit-and-miss here these days :? My Aunty Rose had very good help after her hip op, at home! Someone came to help her shower and all sorts!

Well in fairness I'm sure I would have been offered more help if I lived on my own, but because I have E we've just been left to get on with it. Even the District Nurse expressed surprise, especially when she saw how E struggles to move at times, as for bending bless him, he's often in agony. His arthritis is really bad, but because he has a long history of osteomyelitis (16 major ops as a child) the risks of operating are considered too high. The physio situation isn't excusable though and I'm pretty sure the ward manager will be raising that with those concerned.

Back to work - grey, damp and cold after a gorgeous weekend. 'Nuff said.

Had a lovely time today with the lady from Belfast, we hit it off straight away. It was a gorgeous day, and we walked along the river to the Grand Canal Dock area. I had a couple of restaurants in mind and we got a table outside one of them in the sunshine - I got sunburned and she says she did also! We both enjoyed our meal and chatted nonstop, getting to know a little about each other's lives. All too soon we had to walk back to the station for her to get her train at 3.20pm. We will be seeing her in Blackpool in August, if not before, and I think she will get on well with our dancing friends.
