Do you think selective memory plays a part? I would swear every summer holiday we went on as kids was wall-to-wall sunshine, but that can't be right as we went mainly to Devon and the IOW, and never abroad, so we must have had rotten weather sometimes
Oh I'm sure - but would definitely say the summers had on the whole nice weather. Not scorchio hot like now but nice enough to to just be out and about and playing.
I think so too Whole summer holidays spent playing cricket and playing on the swings, on the rec. It was only four doors down from us (me and my sister) and our best friends lived next door to it
In all this nice weather there are no kids playing out round here and I bet my son's 2. 13/16years old are still stuck inside on there phones we always lived in army camps down south usually surrounded by woods and fields great outdoors for us kids sigh
The kids over here seem to play out all the time which I'm happy to see.
It's a very 'outdoors' environment as we're lucky to enjoy year long good weather - perhaps it's also because the Spanish are a very sporty nation and actively take part in padel, tennis, basketball etc which is far easier to enjoy outside and very much a family thing.
What an amazing weekend that was - I just want to rewind back to Friday evening and start all over again. Too many of you to reply individually, so will just say hello and hope you all have a lovely day doing the bits and bobs you're all up to
Billy's had a long walk, it seemed much warmer this morning though than previous mornings so I was glad to get home. John and Tom have both left for work and Joe has a hospital appointment at lunchtime so we'll head over to Stafford later for that. I know it'll be a total waste of their time and our time though, there's absolutely no reason for him to need to be seen.
I've just done a bit more sorting out of the things Tom brought back with him and have swapped his uni duvet with the one on his bed as it's nicer quality and stuffed the old duvet and pillows into the bin ready for emptying tomorrow. He did some rearranging in the garage last night so there's now quite a pile for the charity shop and some boxes to be broken down for recycling.
