Good morning.

Just watching the most beautiful sunrise. 8-)

Well after the most wonderful 3 weeks in the UK it's bag packing time to head back to Spain. Flight's not till 5pm so can enjoy breakfast and lunch with my folks. :D

Have a great day everyone. X

Good morning!

That's gone so quickly Ally! Have a safe journey home - btw, how many books have you ended up with?

I'm off out with Billy in a minute, bit later today as I wanted to get the gardens watered before going out. Food shopping with Tom later this morning so I need to do a menu plan and a list. John's back from Sunderland later tonight.

I think that today will mostly be spent trying to keep cool though.

Have a good day all!

Morning everyone

Another grey start to the day  But it starts getting warmer about 10.00am. Just looked at the long range weather and we've just 2 weeks of the more normal heat we'd have this time of year, starting next week.

Safe journey home Ally x

Flan and salad Di, that's what we're having, Nice and easy. Take flan out of freezer first though ;)

I have ironing to do and Grumpy will be doing the first of the putting primer on the new walls :Hi: :Hi: can't do all of them, as some are not quite dry enough, but the utility wall can be done :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: I know he's putting off doing the drains, as it's hard work, but he'll have to do it before it gets too hot.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :)

That certainly went quickly, Ally! Safe journey home :) xxx

Jo, my fridge is nearly empty! H goes home tonight ( :( ) but I need to feed him until he does, so I'll nip out in a while ;)

Quiche and salad sounds nice Jan :D

Well, as I mentioned Harry is going home tonight! A flying visit but we've spent a lot of time together, and he said he's really enjoyed it 8-) Supposed to be Pilates tonight, but as we're forecast mid 30s today and that church hall has no aircon or fans I will see how I feel later! It's at 6.30 and by that time last night I was just about done :?

Have a good day everyone:) xx

Good morning all.

Another hot day forecast - up to 29* C this afternoon. But you won't get me sun-bathing!

Hope you all have a nice day.

A good rainstorm would be most welcome, wouldn't it?

Good Morning all
Have hardly slept a wink as it is so hot even with a fan on.
Got up and opened the doors to a terrible, sewer type smell wafting in.
They are spraying the fields with fertiliser (sewer type) but have googled and
there is also a smell coming over from a factory in France. They say they will
remedy it by tonight but we are advised to keep windows and doors shut.!!!!
Must go to Home Bargains later to stock up with essentials.
Making Kedgeree for dinner tonight.

Keeping windows and doors shut no fun Lissie

We've had quite a lot of quiche and salad but may well have it again!
Kaz I wouldn't go, it's hard to breathe properly in this heat.

Quite a bit of the country is supposed to get a lot of rain, tonight and tomorrow. I'm hoping it hits us but won't hold my breath.

Morning all

A lovely start to the morning. I'm dressed like I'm going on summer holiday; my train line is striking today and instead of the usual train with air con the trains today will be the older ones with no a/c and crowded... so I'm prepared :D

Lissie; doors and windows closed and with the curtains drawn may actually keep your house cooler than you think; that's what they do in hot countries - let the cool morning air in and then come mid / late morning shutters and windows are closed. The smell can't be nice - eewww :(
Ally, safe travels - cannot believe just how fast the time has gone. Bet you're looking forward to getting home though?
Di, I'd be so happy if some of that rain gets to my garden as well; one can live in hope
Kaz, good idea to see how you feel this evening; exercising in this weather isn't the best idea ;-)
Jo, do you plan a menu every week and do you manage to stick to it? I always have all good intentions of doing that but it never works for me
Yum to quiche and salad Jan - perfect summer dinner
Aggers, hope you and Mrs A stay cool

Have a lovely day all x
