Lissie, that's awful :(

Kaz, I'd stay home. It'll be horrible in this heat.

Di, we've got a 29% chance of a shower tomorrow evening according to the BBC. That's changed since yesterday as we were forecast rain on and off all day for Friday.

Bill's now resting after a walk of just a touch under 5 miles. He was in an exploring mood this morning and even found us a new way to get to the bottom end of the common. I thought it was a short path, leading off one which we already use, which takes you to the car park but I was wrong and it actually takes you to a lovely and quite large area of common which is hidden behind a bank of tall fir trees.

Ria, I do a menu every week but days might get swapped around a bit depending on working hours changing etc.

I find it so much easier to do it that way since we moved here. Before I used to pass a large Asda while on the school run so it was so convenient to pick something up whereas now we don't have a great deal of choice in this village.

I don't envy you the train! Am I right in thinking that you don't need to use the Tube though?

correct - and so happy I don't. Not only because of this weather but in general. It's a super amazing form of transport but the older I get the more I worry about getting stuck in a tunnel should something happen and you can't get out

My office is just across the road from Waterloo so perfect location :D

I've persuaded him to start the main drain, rather than doing it next week. So he's out there making a lot of noise

Another lovely day here, although cooler with a breeze - but change is acoming, apparently :( We had the children today, poor Kellie has tonsilitis again, third time in four months, but they won't take them out until she has 6 or 7 doses in a year. This time is a bad one, poor little thing, but she did pick up a bit as the day went on and managed to eat a bit of her dinner. Michael was in great form, having really enjoyed his day with us yesterday. He had two hours of golf today, at the end of which the club gave them something to eat - it was nice for him to have something to do because we could not go out anywhere with Kellie being sick. She was very clingy with Miss Osc when they arrived this morning, and I was very touched to hear Miss Osc saying "Granny is the best person in the world to look after you when you are sick, she always was". Mind you, Mr Osc is pretty good too.

Oh Osc, what a lovely thing to hear! Really hope that Kellie is feeling much better soon, poor little thing :(

I don't blame you! We're just this minute back from a quick walk with Billy and it's not cooled down very much, and there were so many flies annoying us.
