FANTASTIC!

Postby Workingman » 26 Jul 2018, 17:08

Almost.

BOOM went the thunder Gods.

TAKE THAT went the rain Gods - drops the size of marbles. :o

Trouble is it only lasted about five minutes. We had running water in the gutters, but the roads and paths dried up in no time after it all stopped.

Just back from Staincross, Barnsley. They had a thunderstorm, a real downpour. Coming back I saw a cast iron manhole cover lifted up by water coming from underneath it and puddles right across the main Wakefield to Barnsley road.

The Birmingham Evening Mail posted on Facebook this morning warning of thunderstorms and possible flash flooding, we've not had a drop of rain where we are though.

We've had no rain either, and its hotter than ever today. We have two air conditioners that are running flat out,
one in the bedroom and one in the lounge. I don't now how we would have coped without them.
We ventured out this afternoon to get something from the local shop, but we turned back half-way there, as
we couldn't stand the heat.
