What's for tea Tuesday?

Postby Ally » 07 Aug 2018, 17:29

My resident chef made summer-in-winter chicken. :D

Quick, easy and delicious. :D :D

We have raspberry mango sorbet for dessert. :P :P

Home made chicken and mushroom soup. With bread, of course.

Just a bowl of home-made soup …… :)

'Cos we had a pub lunch out earlier - two bowls of kedgeree with chopped hard-boiled egg, white rice, curry sauce & mango chutney - 2 for £12 offer at the Red Lion, Kilmington - very nice too! :D

I could not possibly eat soup in August

Bb bought some bargain lamb, so I made a curry.
Having barely cooked for...ooh, about 2 1/2 years, I discovered a lot of well out of date spices, no curry paste. Had to wing it from scratch and hope for the best.
Thankfully it was nice, the big bag of fresh spinach was definitely a big help.

Lots of jars now in the bin, and a minimal list started.
Ground cumin and coriander are nice and fresh, ditto fennel seeds, little else!
My spice cupboard is looking ever so tidy :)

Gert lush it was too 8-) 8-) 8-)

Although I thought we'd be heading for the divorce court when I mentioned it - Grumpy has been having a bad day

Di, we had soup yesterday, courgette and cheese. Also gert lush ;) :D

I made a big salad. Mick had fresh salmon cooked in herb butter, cooled down, with his, and I had what was left of the cold chicken from Sunday. The salad was nice, rocket and watercress leaves, diced cucumber (from the greenhouse), a huge tomato (again from the greenhouse) sliced up, sliced red pepper, dressed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
