Morning all

Jan, I do hope Steve does pull finger and get everything done that's needed so Grumpy can finish the tiling - it's so frustrating when you can't crack on with something because of someone else! As for those fires - it doesn't bear thinking about. Apparently they say that the fires that are raging in California will burn for at least another month because it's so vast and they can't control it :( Just hope they get the one in Monchique under control soon.

Di, good on Bb :D
Jo, maybe the way to approach it is ask if he's going to be home for dinner or not, if he says no and then does turn up then he has to fend for himself. That way you're not asking what he's up to and no way can he feel like your asking too much.
Lissie hope you feel better soon
Saundra, Ally and Osc, enjoy your various days doing the bits and bobs you're up to - or in your case Ally, not up to :D

Usual / usual for me (well the added task of cat sitting for the neighbour still) but otherwise usual / usual

Have a lovely day all x

Afternoon all :D

We had steady rain for a few hours yesterday evening, hasn't made much difference though, bit breezy but still hot and muggy.

How annoying Jan, hope Steve doesn't mess you about again today.
So pleased Bb has decided to have a few more Wednesdays off Di, it will be nice for you to have him home, especially now you can please yourself what you do.
Hope you feel better soon Lissie xx
I would casually ask Tom to give you advance warning when he needs dinner Jo, if he doesn't just don't cook for him. Harsh and you will have to stick to it, but he'll soon get the message.

My ankle played up too much to do more than some basic shopping when we went into town yesterday. So annoying as the hip's gradually feeling better. Need to phone the surgery for my xray results, but as the blood test was only done last Wednesday, might just as well wait a few more days and get both lots together.

No plans for today, if E can get the umbrella up safely, will probably sit in the garden with the kindle this afternoon.

Hope you all have a good day :D

He-s just turned up, so can finish off the electrics and sort out the shower waste, as we-re not having a plug hole, as such. Something different ;)

Still blowy, which is not helping with the fire :cute: :cute:

Afternoon all :)

I've been for a wander in town, and am now up at D's until it's time to go for my dermatologist appointment, up at GRH. D's place is much closer to the hospital than ours, so it wasn't worth going home ;)

Jo, I would just say to Tom that he's an adult now, and if he wants to be treated like one, ie coming and going when he wants, and having his GF over, then he should behave like one and let you know if he's eating at home, or not. Can't have it both ways ;)

B and I worked this out when she came back from Uni. I don't go in her room without an invite, she does her own washing and ironing unless I am doing mine too and feeling generous, plus if she doesn't want a meal, or what I'm cooking she sorts herself out ;) I don't run a hotel :cute:

Jan I hope Steve gets on with it now 8-)

Love to all xxx

He's gone

Finished off the electrics then told Grumpy he wanted him to do the floor in the shower room so he could work it out from there

Grumpy is finishing off the bedroom floor first, as that is more important.

Steve is an engineer, or was until he retired and works to the teeniest margins. Grumpy was/is a carpenter builder, so they work and think very differently

Evening all. Busy day today, shipping FiL to B+M and Aldi for hi shopping, taking some bits to the tip and then taking FiL back home for MrsC to cook his dinner, then taking MrsC's Uncle Jimmy to the doctors.

Strange case is Jim. Hard worker all his life but the minute he gets a twinge he's off down to the doctors like a shot. He must have his own chair in that surgery.
He was complaining of being as weak as a kitten and sweating profusely. Now, you and I might think that this might be connected to the fact that at the age of 82 he has been trimming an extensive privet hedge in the afternoon sun in the hottest summer for forty odd years, but you can't tell Jim that. :)

Then to the doctors for prescriptions.

Bolognese for tea then I'll see if there is anything on TV.

I hope you have all had lovely days.
