A friend of mine is looking to move from Edinburgh down this way; to an area about 15 mins drive from me. She has two large dogs so finding a rental will not be easy, but she found a house and asked me to look at it for her which I did yesterday. When I got there the estate agent who Susan had been dealing with had relegated the viewing to another person - a very lovely young lady called Catherine; but throughout the viewing he kept phoning her and asking for things which I found quite rude. When we arrived at the house Katherine also said she had a 2nd property for me to look at which I wasn't expecting... anyway cut a long story short - that 2nd property was perfect and Susan after I told her about it and she saw it online loved it and decided to confirm her interest. However, once Susan called the estate agent she was told by him that a) the landlord hasn't specified dogs allowed and b) the garage I was told that comes with the property actually doesn't - the owners of the property are using it for themselves for storage.
now the agent knows Susan has the dogs so why show us a property that potentially will not allow dogs and why tell us it has a garage when it doesn't. So darn frustrating and irritating.
Susan is now waiting to hear back whether the landlord will agree to the dogs; if not then she will go with the first property which is perfectly fine but not quite as nice as the 2nd. But why do estate agents do that; they know what the brief is so stick to it!!!!!
