Dinner tonight

Postby JanB » 12 Oct 2018, 17:58

Grumpy likes fish pie, so I thought I'd make a couple. I really do not like fish, but did the deed with the prawns, made sure the white fish had no bones. Was going to have one myself, but chickened put

He now has 3, cooking away in the oven.

Thought I'd have pasta, with a cheese and onion sauce, but realised that I'd used the last of the milk for the sauce for the fish pies.

Cue much thinking. I could eat t he curry I made this afternoon, but felt that was a little unfair, as he loves curry.

Could have a pizza, not a huge lover of it and jaw and mouth sore.

Then remembered that WM brought over a load of noodles in different flavours.

So that's what I'm having, although will probably have to have cheese and biscuits later

I made a rice concoction in the Instant Pot; rice, mushrooms, chicken, peas, Chinese spice and soy sauce and we had some prawn crackers with it.

The fish pie sounds lovely. John wouldn’t eat that if it had prawns in though (not that he’s ever tried them!).

I made a sausage casserole, it's a favourite here in bad weather ;) I did garlic bread with it - we'd normally have mash but I've been so busy today and garlic bread is easier :)

Pretty dire, sorry Wm

Fish pie was apparently gert lush, sadly noodles were not.

Had to have pizza, now feeling rather sorry for myself.

I could have defrosted soup or favas, but it was getting a little late for us both to eat together.

Didn't you have any eggs in? I think I would have whipped up an omelette - it's what I make if I can't think of anything else, and it's nice and soft too 8-) :) xxxx

And pasta.

On this note only today Conor was proudly telling me about the risotto he'd cooked for him and Lucia last weekend and tomorrow he's cooking bream. :D :D

Ally, I've told mine that too but Tom doesn't like eggs so it doesn't work with him  Joe, on the other hand...!
