The worktops are on and I'm starting to put stuff on them. (I much preferred the completely clear look)
This one's a bit blurred
This is the corner where we haven't decided whether to have another cupboard or shelves. I'm going to wait until I've put everything away and if I am a cupboard short then it will be a cupboard, if not I fancy shelves. I still need to put a blind up yet.
This is the bug bear - the fireplace. It is either going to be stripped back to its natural gritstone or be plastered. The joiners mate is back off holiday now and he is going to ring Mick to arrange to come out and look at it. Once it has either been stripped or plastered it is going to have stainless steel sheets inside it as splashbacks and then the beautiful James can be fitted. James is the same colour as the current (old) cooker but is much bigger and will pretty much fill the whole fireplace. He has five burners and a warming plate, two ovens, a grill and a storage space for baking trays, etc.
This is the area where my marble/brick bread making surface is going to go. That's Micks next job. It will be built from bricks and have a thick wooden shelf and then a lovely thick marble worktop at table height - ideal for bread and pastry making. At the moment it is a camping table - not much use for anything other than storing the recycling on!! Once done I will keep all my baking trays, etc in a basket on the bottom shelf and jars full of sugar, flour, etc on the other shelf. (Another blurred one - sorry).
Cupboard door close up. It still needs the under unit lights fitting yet.
My lovely new knives.
