How lovely of them

Postby JanB » 23 Dec 2018, 17:57

Jose Felipe and Ana Cristina that is.

They look after our bottom field of 2 acres, ploughed it, cleared it, lit fires, ploughed it again, sowed it, uses it for his sheep.

This afternoon, they came up to say Boa Natal and thank you. 6 home grown oranges, for my cold, as they were told I had one  , 6 eggs, a jar of olive stuff, olives and herbs, a cake made of figs and a rather expensive bottle of wine.

Told them off about the wine, but because we don't criticise their relationship, as a lot of people do here, Ana wanted to say more of a thank you.

He's now 28 and she's now 53. Been married for just over a year and blissfully happy.

Oooh, fresh fig sandwich cake, all figgy and almondy and vanilla-y with a fig paste filling. That's what the chefs used to make in Saudi and you had to be quick in line to get any.

What good neighbours you have, Jan.

Completely agree, if they are happy and its hurting no one else then good luck to them.

My friend left her husband who was 22 years old than her, for a young lad, 22 years younger

It is Ria. They're talked about in the bar, Jose in particular is not happy. But it's their life and they really are a lovely couple of people.

Sadly, is brother died a few years ago, as did his father, so he helps out with his mum too. His aunt lives in the Algarve and she often comes up to help, with the sheep, picking olives etc.

That's so thoughtful of them, and it's such a shame that they're being judged :( It's no one's business but their's and all that matter is that they're happy.

I think, with a few people, it's because Ana is beyond the age of getting pregnant and both farms will then fall into disuse.
