Good morning Christmas Eve Monday

Postby Ally » 24 Dec 2018, 05:07

Good morning.

Another very warm day forecast. 8-)

A long walk with my personal trainer then back to wait the arrival of the boys. :D

Out this afternoon for a bite to eat and a few drinks then home to a kitchen disco with a Chinese takeaway being delivered around 10. ;)

Looking forward to spending the day with my men. 8-)

Have a great day everyone. xx

Morning Ally, morning all..... Christmas for me today :-D
My brother Frank and his partner Angelika arrived from Germany yesterday evening and will be spending the next two days here (with my other brother) before heading back boxing day. We're all out for dinner tonight and tomorrow will be a home day with a long walk in the forest - bliss

Have a lovely day all xxx

Morning Ally and Ria, enjoy the day with your families!
Really cold here, the car is covered in ice. Our neighbour Sergio has just gone up to the doctors, he's had a chest infection for weeks now.
Our son and his gf came for dinner yesterday which was nice. I'm not really sure what today holds apart from a bit of food prep for tomorrow, as we are going up to our daughter's first thing in the morning for festive bacon sandwiches.
I might need to have a quick trip out to get more bird seed, they have been going through it at a rate of knots this week. They must know when cold weather is coming.
Have a good day all.

Morning everyone

Chilly start again, but it will warm up nicely soon 8-)

Off to Ourique, soon, need to pop into the Chinese to get some plates for the numerous pots we have ( and see if we get a bottle of wine too ;) ) Into Pingo, which should not be too busy, to collect the turkey and fresh veg. Will pop into the chemist to get some paracetamol. I have the most horrendous cough, it's giving me a headache

Will get some petrol too, as we need to do some strimming, probably on Wednesday.

Sounds a lovely couple of days with the family Ria, have fun x

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Have a great day with your fellas, Ally :D

Frohe Weinachten Ria (hope I got that right) :) ;) Have a wonderful time with your familyxxx

Hope you're feeling better Crommers xxx

Have a good one Jan, hope you feel better later too! xxx

I have a few bits to do here, Chris was just coming for Christmas Day, but has decided to stay until Boxing Day, so as we've been storing stuff in H's room lately I need to get it ready for him :) I'll be cooking a gammon joint later, and making a trifle. Hoping to find time to get out for some fresh air at some point! Mick finished for Christmas on Friday last, but Becky is working today, until 3.30.

Have a great Christmas Eve, everyone xxxxxx

Good morning all, it's quite sunny here now after a foggy start.

I was up extra early this morning as Joe needed to be out by 6.30am for a 7am start and I wanted to be sure he'd had breakfast and a hot drink before he went. I took Bill once he'd gone, we didn't see anyone else. John had left for work by the time we'd got home, he's hoping for an early finish and his boss is away so they may be in luck; he'd have them working until 5.30pm if he was at work.

I've got a gammon to cook, I'll just chuck that in the Instant Pot and wait for it to beep and I'll make some sausage rolls. I also need to take some presents around to my parents. I get the feeling I'm going to be guilted into asking them around tomorrow and if so I'll need to run to Tesco and see if I can get a small turkey to supplement what I already have. I didn't get a large one like usual with it just being the four of us but I'm not sure that the one I have will give us any leftovers if it's feeding six of us and I love turkey sandwiches for days afterwards, I prefer those to Christmas dinner

I need to do my nails and then we're off to the pub tonight. Joe's off out and Tom's going to Shannon's so it'll probably just be me and John this year.

Have a good day all!

Good morning on Christmas Eve, it looks pleasant out there. I'll be doing some tidying up for the next hour or so, then off to the gym. After that, it will be a quick change of clothes as we are heading into town for lunch, atmosphere and lights. A friend texted earlier to say they will be in town also so maybe we will meet up with them. Miss Osc and family have already gone into town and are coming home earlier so we probably won't see them. Then home for a quiet evening.

I've just been to the Co op and the main A34 was so quiet, I didn't have to wait to be served in the shop either.
And they had tubs of Quality St! Joe was complaining last night that I hadn't brought one this year...so now we have two!
Two because they were £5 each or 2 for £7

The supermarket was almost empty :o and the butchers were so funny. I had ordered a 7kilo turkey, which is what I got, but they were so surprised it was only for us two. I had to explain, it was curry tomorrow, cold with chips the day after, then more curry. Now they know were bonkers

And we were very naughty. Had a pit stop at the bar for coffee - and had a brandy too 8-) 8-) All before breakfast

Cooked breakfast, potatoes left over from yesterday, fried, with a bantam egg each and turkey sausages. Lovely.

Not as warm as forecast, a lot of high cloud around, but not moaning.
