The Wanderers return...

Postby Ally » 06 Jan 2019, 10:42

...

Flew into East Midlands on Monday at 1.30 after a superb flight - it was so lovely to see Craig waiting in arrivals for us. :cute:

We had a great time seeing in the New Year with him and Lani (3am bed 8-)) and on NY Day we went for a smashing walk in Sherwood forest and had lunch at a really nice country pub.

We both got the train on Wednesday to Birmingham, went to the cemetery and then Jackie's and went out to Moseley at night where we hooked up with loads of friends.

Got the train back 4pm Thursday and again our personal driver Craig was waiting for us.

We dumped our bags and all walked into town - we had a few drinks and a lovely meal, walked home.....and this is when IT happened! A change of plan.

We were due to fly home Friday lunchtime but sitting round the kitchen table the previous night, we all said what a wonderful time we'd had together and wouldn't it be nice if we stayed a bit longer.

Cue Craig passing me his laptop and me finding flights to fly home this morning for the ridiculous sum of 5 euros each! :cute:

The original flights were only 18 each anyway and it would have cost more to change the flights so we just paid for new flights for this morning.

So we had an extra two days with Craig & Leilani. :D :D :D :D

Flight was at 6am so up at 4, taxi to airport, fabby flight and put the key in the door at 10.20.

The second load of washing is on and it's a beautifully warm sunny day. 8-)

The weather in the UK wasn't as bad as I thought it might be - the only thing I didn't like was the endless grey sky so flying back this morning to be greeted with blueness was just perfect. :P

It's a holiday here today so later we're going to walk into town to have a few beers and watch the Malaga game in Jose's....takeaway campero and chips will be in order later too.

It's wonderful going to visit family and friends but nothing beats coming home.

I've not been on VV for quite a few days so hope everyone is well. xx
