seriously, just because one is wealthy doesn't mean ...

one cannot think or be considerate.

My boss John has now left the company. So the very last step was to arrange for some boxes to be sent from the office to his house in the country. Not a problem at all usually and arrangements (that John was well aware of) were made for the boxes to be collected this morning. However I just had to call John because of something else and whilst speaking to him reminded him the boxes were on their way... oh but he can't get here he says; we've got 7" snow he says (they're down near Marlborough in Wiltshire) and roads are closed he says.

Well why didn't you call me this morning when you woke up and saw that snow and tell me MUCH earlier so I not only could have saved a person a long (and given the weather a potentially dangerous) journey, but also save the company the cost of having to do this twice!

So mad

ONE Ria, people with wealth are often quite thoughtless. Their wealth cushions them from so many of the little everyday annoyances that most of us deal with, that they just don't THINK of how their actions impact others :?

Very thoughtless of him

Good riddance, I'd say.

And the delivery driver would deserve a medal.

Not all of them Kaz. The little old lady I help with her aphasia is a millionaires and is always concerned about her, much younger, neighbours, and L the cleaner and M her gardener. And she spoils me rotten with little (expensive) gifts and no matter how much I tell her not to she just ignores me.

However, I also know a few who, like Ria's ex boss, are obnoxious in the extreme. If you are not as rich or richer than they are you might as well be something stinky on the sole of their shoe. There is no excuse for their attitude, but there you go.

Ria, I do hope the driver gave up and turned back. If so leave the boxes in a corner and when he rings to find out where they are tell him you were waiting for his call to inform you that there roads were clear - even if that might have been the case for a wee while. ;)

Well, turns out that the driver did get stuck and a kind farmer pulled him out and John got his boxes. But John send me an email to inform me of what had happened and it was in a rather accusatory tone!!!! seriously

So agreed with our finance guy and the driver will come by sometime next week and pick up a a tip from us as thank you for going out of his way. Bless the driver, he was really cool about it and thought it was quite hilarious that he was trundling through deep snow and it wasn't December... :D made me smile
