Good morning, it is dull and a bit misty here but totally different to this day last year, when we were totally snowbound and had to cancel our Scotland trip - even if flights hadn't all been cancelled, we couldn't even get to the airport. Thursday today, so children, and I will be collecting Kellie at midday. Michael will be walking part of the way here on his own with Edward meeting him halfway, he walks to school on his own in the mornings now and also home or to the childminder's house after school. Right, better get tidying up the place befors going to get Kellie.

Glad you are feeling better, Kaz, but do take it easy xx

Morning all :D

Dull and overcast here

Good to hear you're on the mend Kaz, take it easy x

Glad you had a lovely time with the family Ria.

The podiatrist has told me to ease into wearing the new insoles, 20/30mins a day to begin with, and to expect them to make me ache for a while. The aim is to wear them all the time. They really are uncomfortable so I think it will take quite a while before that's possible.

Weekly shopping day for us, M&S then Tesco.

Have a good day :D

Good afternoon all - glad to hear you're recovering, Kaz.

Sunshine and showers down here; a stiff breeze but not unpleasant. Traditional April weather, really. Just walked up past the sheep fields to the surgery to drop the repeat prescriptions in whilst Mrs O is up at the local primary school listening to them reading.

We have been fending off cold callers this week offering steam patio cleaning. One persistent chappie said he'd even offer us "a knock-down price" of £300. In yer dreams - I wonder what on earth his full price was ....

Been a gloriously sunny and rather warm day 8-)

I read this morning that the government is introducing a new law, for the fires, from tomorrow.

You now have to contact a certain website, a minimum of 4 days before you want a fire, tell them what is consists of and when you want to burn it. You then get a text to say okay or not  Now, living at windy ridge, you can never tell if it's going to be windy or not. You would then have to go through the process every time

AND, as of tomorrow, the bombeiros must attend

So we had a bonfire this morning

That's all the flower beds weeded - there are 4 big one's and zillions of little one's.

Now going to sit on the back terrace, with a beer

what, will these guys be paid? Or are those poor people that do this voluntarily expected to give up even more of their time?

Hi all - Kaz I'm glad you're feeling better, nothing worse than that!! xx

Well what a difference a day makes!!! Gorgeous warm sunshine yesterday and today - winter's back with grey skies and damp :? :( I'm cold. And tired. Tom woke me when he got up at 5 to ask if I'd changed the heating settings, as there was no hot water. Again. Last week it was because the pressure had dropped on the boiler, but today the fault code said there was no gas getting through to heat the water So I've phoned the engineer, who lives within sight of our house, but still not heard back from him! He serviced the boiler a week or two ago and has been back to fit a part and then back again to pump something up on Monday after I rang. He's probably sick of me but at least before we had hot water, now we don't have anything. Except the electric fire in the living room, but it isn't very hot.

Been to Aquafit this morning. It's Anne's last time for a bit as she's having her operation on Monday. I gave her a little goody bag of toiletries to take into hospital and took a few paperbacks and a Get Well card....she said "I'm not going to cry" …..bless I'm quite worried about her.

Grocery shopping afterwards and then home to a cold house. I CBA to do any housework just now, might have gone for a walk but again CBA.....I miss the sun!! So annoying as it's been so glorious whilst I've been at work and now I'm off till Monday and its horrible :?

Have a good day folks xx

I hate it when that happens; it's beyond frustrating

Sorry to hear you've been having boiler issues; does the engineer work for himself or a company; if the latter then call the company and get another engineer out; you can't be without hot water or heating!

Probably about the same as normal - they only get paid for when they're out on call.

It's not going to work.

Jose Felipe is part of the F,lorestal bods who can also come out, will have to have a chat to him,

He lit one of our bonfires the other week
