She is home

Mrs.e arrived home yesterday afternoon. She had to wait nearly five hours for her prescriptions. Came home in a private 4x4 car from a local charity whic provides various services for pensioners.

She has managed to walk up stairs last night and came down this morning with my help. If we had fallen I would have been underneath. We now have a zimmer frame upstairs and down stairs a commode and a chair wth adjustable legs. Will pick up a she horn witha long handle and a device to pick things off the floor.
Have also managed to get a Blue Badge as she cannot walk very far a present. Going out tomorrow so she can have some sunshine.

Everybody says how well she is doing. Only has pain when she moves her leg.

I have managed to mow the lawn this afternoon. Still chief cook and bottle washer. Not burnt the toast yet!!

Glad to hear she's home Cruiser. Slow and steady is definitely the best way to go for a while yet. A long handled shoe horn and grab stick are a great idea, still using my shoe horn.

I had metal handle thing that goes under mattress to hold onto to get in and out of bed

Goodness me that's quick doesent give a person much time to get there strength back I don't think but take care

It's always a relief to get back into "your own surroundings" and hopefully that will help aid her recovery.

Cruiser that's great news, Mrs E sounds like she's a strong lady! Lots of rest, and taking it easy for her now. I must say I agree with Ossie about getting back into your own home, I don't think hospitals are as good at rest and aftercare these days, they are such busy and noisy places.

Lovely to see that Mrs.e is home, cruiser, it is always better to be in your own bed. Make sure she takes things slowly though, even just getting over an anaesthetic takes a few weeks.
