Not sure what I feel about the neighbours. The not so nice one's.

She's okay on her own, but he's just plain odd.

If she's on her own, she will speak, but if he's with her, in the supermarket or similar, they both look away

Every time we go out or come back in, at least one of them are watching us

And, as I was strimming the bank to the right of the pool earlier, she stood and watched

But we've had enough with the barking dogs and are now keeping a log.

By law, you must keep your animals reasonably quiet between 8.00am and 8.00pm. So having a dog barking at 11.15 last night really peed me off. I opened the front door and rather loudly said - oh listen, a dog barking at 11.15 at night. The outside lights went out, the dog was taken inside.

What annoys us is that when they have guests, paying guests, the dogs are not heard at all.

I can cope with the donkeys, it's not something that can be controlled.

But when we've mentioned the darking bogs, all we get is "dogs do bark you know" Yes, I know they do, but they can also be trained not to. The new pup is already copying the other two and barking every time he sees us, at the cars/trucks on the track and is now racing towards the fence between us.

Sorry, rant over ish

The bloke we're joined onto is a funny bloke Jan. He'll go out of his way to avoid speaking if he's on his own but will speak if he's with his wife. She's lovely, she always stops for a chat and is always smiling.

They've had the house up for sale twice since moving here 8 years ago, sold it almost immediately both times but have pulled out of the sales.

It's normal for your neighbours to have a look and see what is happening, but to get up from their chairs, stand and watch you rive up/down the drive and open/shut the gate……. :?

And he stands there, with his hands on his hips, for all the world as if we're doing something wrong.

When she goes to the craft group or language lessons, he stands in the corner, waiting    Doesn't join in, just stands there. The same at the coffee mornings.

Not that you'd get me going anywhere near any of them

He sounds controlling to me Jan! That might explain why she speaks when alone, but not when she's with him.

Oh he's definatley that Kaz.

That's why he won't speak to me, because I had a "bit" of a go about his animals a couple of years ago. More than a bit, to be honest, told him to keep himself and his animals off our land 8-)

Then stop doing it. We can bumble along without being told what to do all the time. Honest. :P

Jose Felipe has just been up, with eggs :Hi: :Hi: :Hi:

He normally just waters the sheep, but came up with the eggs and was gobsmacked (not a Portuguese word  ) about the state of the land next door. And the poor animals. He now has 12 goats, 10 sheep (not sheered), 3 donkeys and heaven knows how many chickens, geese and ducks.

The land is tripped bare  There is nothing at all for them to eat - he was horrified. They've even eaten the estevas  It honestly loks like armaggedan over there. What will happen in the summer, I hate to think.

Think maybe something may be done soon.

Oh no, poor things!! Don't they have an equivalent of the RSPCA out there? I would report it, if so.

Not quite Kaz, but Jose Felipe is part of the florestal people who keep an eye on things like that, also trees that need cutting back, land that needs to be cleared and he can speak to people in the council.

there is a separate part of the police who look into animal welfare and I think a phone call to them is in order.
