I am 8-) thank you.

Bought a new toy for it, but haven't used it yet, been far too blowy

I used Jan's vinegar and salt recipe for weed killer the other day and even though it has rained the mix did the job. All I had to do was sweep the dead stuff away with a bass broom for nice clean steps.

It does work!

Now, it pays to haggle.

I want to point a small stretch of wall... In the builder's yard there was this bag of dry mix with an open corner and a lump about the size of an apple had set but the rest was OK.

"How much"
"Not sure I can sell it, bud, let me radio through"
"Tell 'em a quid"
"Beth, there is an open bag and this bloke is offering a quid..... OK"
"OK mate, it's a deal"
"Cheers"

Mind you I did have to buy a pointing trowel for £1.80, but I thought better of making an offer... ;)

Ria, neither you nor Beth quite get this haggling lark.....

One of you opens with a bid, the other counters and you keep going to meet somewhere near the middle.

So, if I had opened asking for a freebie I would have been shown the door.....

However, Beth was supposed to counter my £1 with, say £3, then it goes me £1.50, her £2, me £1.75, her "deal". She was not supposed to fold straight away.

Race 4 Life ladies were walking through the Quays this morning. One lady popped into Corretto's to pick up a takeaway coffee, while I was in the queue. I got talking to her, and gave her some money, in memory of our Di, from us all. It has properly choked me up. I miss her xxx
