Sadly that's the only time that works if I want to join Karl, Nadine and the kids because of the schools.... the last time we had a holiday together was back in 2011 so this one is well overdue.

Saundra I did have to laugh this morning.... it's my brother who actually ended up making the booking and he doesn't drink! He's just desperate for a week away as well so before you knew it he'd turned around and said - OK, all booked!

Ria, I'm scratching my head a bit about the timing for holidays for us. Joe's looking for a full time job and from September Tom's going to be back to just having school holidays off so having them both dogsitting while we're away will be tricky and it looks like we'll be back to being restricted to school holidays :?

Jo can't Billy go into kennels. Or go to a dog sitter
I'm sure it wouldn't harm him altho it would upset you

Afternoon all, it is a nice day here, sunny and breezy, although the wind is rather cool. I was at the gym this morning then out for a cuppa afterwards. I had done some bits and pieces around the house before I went out and am now trying to motivate myself to do some ironing.

Sort of on-and-off rain today, not very pleasant out there.

Phoned a local aerial man to come and give our aerial and TV system a look-over. Our main transmitter (Mendip) has been upgraded in stages over the last few months, and whilst we have retuned the Freeview channels successfully, the BBC channel signals remain very weak and the picture keeps cracking up badly. Our chimney-mounted aerial could be up to 30 years old and I'm told many old ones aren't geared up to receive these changed frequencies very well. Our TV is also quite old now, so we need a bit of advice. The guy will come Saturday morning.

Glad to read Mrs C and yourself are enjoying your cruise, Cruiser!

Afternoon everyone!

Well as I've been half expecting for a while now, WW is closing. Apparently nobody wanted to take it over, so we are closed as from today! I will miss the social side of it, although hopefully we will all meet up now and again for a cuppa, and I see E and I outside of the meetings anyway. WW are a ruthless bunch, do you know by the time we'd had lunch our free WW app - we got the access for helping out - had already been cancelled! Emma tried to log in and it has locked her out  She's helped out at that meeting since 1997 - so much for loyalty!

Mick has gone to Hatfield, for a meeting first thing, so decided to travel up this afternoon - he's gone by train.

Ria, oh fabby, a week in Crete! :Hi:
