If they're both staying over regularly enough then why not buy (well get the boys to club together for this) a spare set of bedding (duvet, pillow and respective covers and sheet) - and have them in a storage box so you just take them out whenever they're coming over and after every 7th or so visit the bedding can be washed - ask the girls to strip it before they leave. And I'd even go as far as suggesting that it's the boys's responsibility to make up the beds before the girls arrive ;-)

I’ve already thought of that, and have plenty of spare covers, pilllowcases and bottom sheets but there’s not really anywhere to stash a spare king size duvet when not in use without having it ‘on show’ somewhere in a storage box which I don’t want, and I don’t want to spend even more money on something nice that’d hide it. To get the new double bed in the spare room we had to dismantle the two bookcases in there which housed the DVDs so they’re now all in storage boxes under the new bed so there’s no space left under there (and I was ruthless and sent loads to the charity shop so don’t want to get rid of any more).

It must be annoying Jo. Even more so if the extra work isn't appreciated.

I'd chuck both of 'em out.

We had similar with the eldest, then the middle one.

Got royally peed off and off they went ;)

But then, I'm not a nice person

One of the girlfriends came downstairs wearing the most revealing baby doll thingy that was probably bought in an Ann Summers shop

I wouldn't want to upset either of the girls, Jan. I want them to come here and feel welcome, comfortable and at home, and they seem to and they're great to have around. I know all too well what it's like to have a mother in law who isn't very welcoming and I'd hate for these lovely girls to feel how I've felt at times :?

Sorry Jo, didn't mean it the way it came out typed.

I was thinking back to when we had the eldest two living with us and the pain they were with their one night stands and then longer term girlfriends. As we only had 2 usable bedrooms at the time, it made things rather difficult.

Grumpy kept on moaning about how they were using the place (the boys) like a hotel as they weren't paying us any rent, had all food put on the table and cooked and washed up and all their clothes washed by me.

So in the end, I said t hat they could either pay us some money towards their keep, or go to their mums   One stayed, one left. But came back later, when they other had finally moved out.

 Don't worry Jan!

I was much much much less patient when Tom was going out with Meg and she was staying most nights and eating here too. Our food bill increased considerably, even on the odd occasion that they stayed at her house they'd come back here for their breakfast!

We'd treading carefully with Joe and Amanda. She's off to university in September (definitely going, she's got an unconditional offer) and she's not even going to be even remotely local as she's going to Falmouth so their time together is limited. Me and Shannon were both saying last weekend about how we wish she wasn't going to be so far away as they make such a lovely couple. Who knows how that one will work out :?
