Good morning Saturday

Postby meriad » 15 Jun 2019, 06:00

Morning all - the sun is trying very very hard to come on out to play but the clouds seem to have other ideas; we'll see what the day brings.

Out in a bit to meet up with Karl and Nadine for breakfast; just us three - no children; how lovely :D Then Nadine and I are going hat shopping - Nadine is off to Ascot later in the week and needs a hat. I've got to get a few things for the garden and have a friend coming for dinner so need to go food shopping as well. Will be a busy but good day I think.

Have a lovely one yourselves xxxx

Morning Ria, Kaz and everyone

Sunshine and clouds for us too, but warming up nicely now 8-) 8-)

Late start, as we both woke up in the early hours, then couldn't get back to sleep  Grumpy watched The Alamo    I stayed in bed with a book. Both fell asleep about 5.00 :D Then the laptop wouldn't start :? but all okay now.

Oh, hat shopping, lovely :Hi: :Hi: Have fun :D

Domestic goddessing for me this morning and then helping Grumpy outside moving logs.

Curry for dinner :D

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning everyone.

Up remarkably early as the aerial man is here, looking at our TV reception :geek: . It's always been a bit iffy but the latest round of frequency changes at the Mendip transmitter has rendered some channels, especially the BBC ones, virtually unwatchable. He thinks the aerial attached to the chimney itself isn't that old (some have been rendered obsolete), so he's now stalking the loft looking at the various gubbins. My own pet theory is that over the years, the weight of the pigeons sitting on the aerial itself has probably bowed it …. :P :D

Rather a dull morning, so not a day for venturing too far out, methinks.

Enjoy your day, all! :D

An update! :D

Apparently the distribution box in the loft has been jerry rigged and a bad case of cable-splicing has been uncovered. Plus the external signal isn't the greatest (47 megathingies on a tolerable scale of 45 to 65 megathingies  ), so a proper rewiring and a signal booster to get the megathingies closer to 65 is the solution. Cost around £150, taking about an hour, and he's doing it now ….

So, Mrs O is making a large vat of vegetable soup and I'm here annoying you!

Good work by aerial man Os. Kaz and Saundra, it's not raining here either, which is a big plus. Yours does sound like a good day Ria. I'm having beef curry tonight Jan!
Later on Eliza is being dropped off whilst her parents go on a "date night". :) They want it all these days. Suffer, like we had to!
That apart I don't know what's on the list.
Have a good day all.

Morning all, sun and cloud here after a night of very steady rain. Shortly we will head off to the local GAA pitch where Michael is playing a match at 11am. We rarely go to the matches, but it so happens that his cousin is playing on the opposing team and the cousin’s mother who is Edward’s niece has brought him, so we will go and say hello to her. Afterwards, I will pop down to a bookshop a couple of miles away to get a present for my grand nephew whose birthday is on Tuesday, I need to get that posted on Monday. No great plans for the rest of the day, and Edward will be watching the US Open golf.

Good morning all, it's clouded over here after a sunny start but for now it's not raining :Hi:

I walked Billy for 5 miles earlier (his first proper walk since Monday) and only saw one other person. Surprisingly it wasn't very muddy at all despite the constant downpour since Tuesday. The washing I did yesterday evening and hung out overnight is mostly dry.

I went out with Bill at 7.30 and Joe and Amanda were already up and making breakfast, they didn't get in from their night out until 3.30. Amanda looked so fresh faced and awake too. No make up and not a hint of dark circles

I need to get some fresh bread before lunch and will also call in to see my parents and cut my Mom's hair. I'll do the ironing when I get back and hopefully the weather will hold so that we can have another walk this evening, there're showers forecast for this afternoon though.

We never had date nights either Crommers, wouldn't have had the energy to get ready after a day of looking after the kids anyway

Hat shopping! We used to go in BHS in Birmingham and try them on

Have a good day all!

Date night? Blimey, not a hope

Well there is good news and bad news from SW - B lost a bit and I gained :cute: :P I expected to really as I've not been well. Currently stuffing my face with a turkey club sandwich in Corretto's - purely for medicinal reasons ;) :P
