Good morning Sunday

Postby Ally » 30 Jun 2019, 04:36

Good morning.

6.30am and the sun's bouncing off the walls.

It's going to be another absolute scorcher so a yomperoo with Don within the next hour. :D

Back for a swim and a chill out.

This afternoon we're going to a friend's for a BBQ. There's plenty of shade in her garden and a pool so that's where I'll be.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Had a lie-in this morning, no bogs darking, bliss 8-) 8-)

Warm already, but with a welcome breeze 8-)

Off to Ourique soon, to get some of those antihistmines for Grumpy, he was suffering yesterday   We'll get breakfast there and sit outside when back here and just enjoy the pace and quiet :D

The car will then be washed and cleaned inside too - we're used to the dust, but our visitors may not be  and I have the favas to make for tomorrow.

BBQ later - we've checked and we're okay as long as we're careful, as we're now in he critical period, for fire.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :)

Ally, enjoy the BBQ :) xx

Jan, you too! Hope Grumpy feels better once he gets his antihistamines xx

Looks like a nice day here Saundra :) xx

Hoping for a quiet day today, after the stress of the last few days. Continuing to hope that J will rally a bit, but it's looking increasingly unlikely.

Becky was Slimmer Of the Month at SW yesterday, she's doing so well! It was a bit of good news, in amongst all the grief we've been getting. I've updated a bit on my thread on Family board about that situation.

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Morning all. /warm here too Jan but not dusty thank God. Saundra, enjoy your garden! Sister in law has been in Bridlington for a week, she always seems to drop lucky with the weather. Kaz, sometimes life does seem to be all stress doesn't it? But well done to Becky!
Ally there were lots of BBQ's round here yesterday in the mini heatwave. I think people in Spain handle it better though. Sitting in the shade is the thing to do, rather than they were doing round here. Which was some of them were sitting outside the pub in the full sun drinking lots of beer in the afternoon before drinking lots at BBQs in the evening. I know what's going to happen later, thinks I and sure enough a police car went past around chucking out time, siren and lights going. Too much sun, too much drink, not enough sense.
It's going to be a quiet day here. Sister in law is back this afternoon, we might have son and his girlfriend over for dinner but probably not. Son in law is working so we'll plate up some dinner for our daughter and take it up later.
Have a good day everyone. :D

Good morning all, it's thankfully a bit cooler here today and cloudy. I think we're forecast a high of 21.

I walked over to the Co Op late morning yesterday because John suggested a barbecue and I thought I had sausages in the freezer but it turned out that they'd been eaten. I didn't need many as it was just going to be the two of us and really didn't think I'd manage to get any but surprisingly they had some. Joe said it was manic at Tesco with people buying beer and barbecue stuff. Saturdays are busy anyway and he was on his own, covering for the two people who usually work that day. He's hoping for an easier shift today.

John's gone out on his bike and then we're going to Stafford this afternoon.

Tom was messaging me last night from Fes. His hotel room looks gorgeous, in a very grand Moroccan style but - and this is important to Tom - air con, free breakfast and free wifi  He'd been for a walk and had dinner, and he said that the Factor 100 works!
He's gone on his own as Shannon didn't want to go plus she didn't want to dip into her savings. It's a shame really as they'd planned some holidays but her shoulder operation prevented them going for a few months and now she's being a bit wishy washy about spending money. The problem is, now is the best time for them to make the most of their freedom and get away as she's working in a cafe but can pick and choose her hours (she's the one who decides on the rota) and how many hours/days she works per week and from September Tom's going to be restricted to going away just in school holidays.

Very well done to Becky!

Have a good day all!

Chicken sausages in a butty for breakfast :Hi: :Hi: Rather lush ;)

Well done to B :Hi: :Hi:

The dust is from the track, Crommers. Sadly, it's not been sorted out this year, so is full of holes and rocks

Washing machine on, too hot now to clean the car, so that will be done tomorrow.

I'm going to sort out the spuds for tonights bbq and also do the broad beans, ready for the requested dinner tomorrow night :D

Afternoon all :D

Lovely sunshine here 8-)

Well the morning didn't quite go to plan. We had a nice lie in and then E went off as usual to get the papers. Our nearest shop hadn't received any so he walked to the second shop but they'd had so few they were all out. Having been a newsagent many years ago we knew the supermarkets would have got their usual supply so we ended up getting into the car and driving to our small Tesco, sure enough they had loads.

We did a bit more gardening yesterday, I'm not too bad, but poor E is extra sore. He's all wired up to his Tens which usually eases it a bit. A lazy day beckons, roast pork for dinner followed by strawberry blancmange and blackcurrant jelly.

Have a good day :D

Afternoon all, mixed weather here today....lovely when we got up, then clouds, then sun and cloud and we have even had a short rain shower (oooh and it is raining now too.) However, we had a lovely walk this morning and got home before the first shower. I have towels out on the line, they will have to stay there. Various things I could do today, reading, knitting, and I want to sort out what tops to go with what skirts and/or shorts for our holiday. I got the ironing up to date yesterday.
