Good morning Monday

Postby Ally » 08 Jul 2019, 05:18

Good morning.

Another pleasant day weather wise. 8-)

This morning Jackie and I are going shopping. (I am under strict orders not to buy any more books. Yesterday I bought 7 within 10 minutes in two charity shops!)

Really looking forward to tonight as we're meeting up with friends in Solihull and after a drink we're going to the Turtle Bay restaurant. It's Caribbean. :D

Have a great day everyone. X

Morning Ally, morning all

Ally enjoy the day shopping - I need to get to some charity shops before the end of August to buy some books for the next summer holiday. It's the only time I get to read really so want to make sure I have some nice books. Caribbean dinner sounds delicious - I'm picturing lots of prawns and plantain - yum!

A rather dull start to the day here and not going to be very warm; just as well really as it does make working in the garden more bearable. Up early as I'm expecting the BT man to come between 7 and 9 to rejig my broadband; I've upgraded to ultra super mega fast something; and the cost came down; so win win. And typical - I'm up and ready in time and I bet he'll get here just before 9! :D Then it's off to the hardware store for a few bits and bobs and then one of my least favourite jobs in the garden to do - trim the hedge. I really need to cut the top down a lot, I did that last year already but it's just grown so tall again that it's hard to reach.

Have a lovely day everyone and enjoy whatever it is you're up to xxx

Morning Ally, Ria and everyone

A lovely morning, so a warm day 8-)

Sounds a lovely day for you both, apart from the hedge trimming ;) Think I probably would have bought triple that amount Ally

Really must finish off the cleaning today. I also have a large pile of ironing, but that can wait until tomorrow. Will be making favas today, to finish off the last of our broad beans.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning all xx

Mick has to start all the officialdom stuff today for Aunt J. Mick's brother and wife are coming up to stay with D. She rang a little while ago, and is ok, but I'm glad she won't be alone in the house now.

Ria I hope your broadband gets sorted :)

Ally, put those books down! ;)

I have ironing too Jan, it will get done later

Love to all :) xxx

Good morning all, it's clouded over here after a sunny start.

I've cut all of the lawns, watered the gardens and the second load of washing is in the machine. I haven't walked Billy because he's got a booboo, poor thing. He was surrounded by four dogs last week and one nipped him on the side, the Cone of Shame and doggy antibacterial wipes healed it nicely and it scabbed over only for him to knock it off on Saturday and be back to square one. I bought some antibacterial vet powder and it's now dried up nicely and scabbed over again so he's having to take it easy!

We did have an afternoon out with him yesterday though as it was the Open Day at Dogs Trust in Shrewsbury, which was where we got him from. We didn't want to miss it as they had to cancel it last year as it was far too hot for the dogs so had obviously missed out on some vital fundraising. It was a lovely afternoon, and I managed two licks of my ice cream before Bill jumped up and snaffled it

Have a good day all!

Good afternoon everybody.
Went to the doctors this morning. Am trying to get results of a test which was done in May to check my heart. Doctor phoned me to say they are having problems with the computer and the doctor who did the request is on holiday. So I will have to wait till next week.
Then went to post two parcels and did some shopping.
Am now going to town as I want some help with my phone. I am trying to down load photos from my phone to my computer. Nothing seems to work.
Have a good day everybody.

Afternoon all :D

Bright and sunny here 8-)

I used to buy so many books we started to run out of space to put them all, I can't bear to get rid of them. Now nearly all new books go on the Kindle, much easier, especially when we go on holidays.

The sun came out yesterday afternoon so we managed to get the new plants in the garden.

Been getting a bit sore again the last couple of days, probably overdid it a bit when we went down to the harbour Saturday. Hydro again tomorrow so hopefully that will help. We're driving over to the small Tesco later, need more bananas and a few other fresh bits. Planning to sit out in the garden when we get back.

Have a good day :D

Had a telephone call from my doctor this morning, in which he asked me umpteen questions
regarding any side effects I might be having from the medication I'm taking. My answer to all
of them was 'no', to which he seemed quite pleased. (So was I).

We will be watching the tennis on the tele this afternoon. We really enjoy it.

Hope you are all O.K.
