Good Morning Monday

Postby JanB » 15 Jul 2019, 06:54

Morning everyone

Hazy over the Algarve hills - and ours ;) but warming up later, I hope 8-)

Watering done and houseworkery stuff will be done after breakfast. Grumpy is carrying on with the store room. He can only do a few hours in the morning, as it gets too hot later.

Will try and get in the pool later, as long as we don't have that dreadful wind - north wind, blasted cold :cute:

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Managed to get most of the cleaning done before breakfast - had to stop as Molly came in and is now fast asleep

So I've done the ironing

Vacuuming and floor mopping will be done once she's up and out again.

Going to take a wander down to the battery store, see if I can find some books I've not read for a while. Might take a cutting from the two rose bushes down by the ruin. They only get watered when it rains  so very hardy ;) Just hope they take.

Just beginning to brighten up now 8-)

Woo hoo I am here! We have two hours free internet and I have just connected :D We have a sea day today, on our way to arrival in Hamburg in the morning. The weather was very grey and chilly but the sun seems to be coming out a bit now, not that warm though. We had a lovely time last night, sitting beside a nice couple at dinner who also dance. Managed to force ourselves to do some dancing ;) We have just been to a very interesting talk about Doris Day, and I am in the library just about to take out a book while Edward is having a look at the ballroom dance lesson. Better go, my time is getting eaten up

Good morning everybody.

The sun is out and it is getting warm. Have been shopping. Got a book, anothet detective by Ian Rankin at half pric. I like him. Getsome from a second hand book store. Three books for a pound.
Osc, we get free wifi when we are cruising. It is one of the perks as we are aregular cruiser. Trying to entice mrs.e to go on a cruise to Norway.

Will try to finosh painting the shed this afternoon. Have to do the back and one side.
Have a good day everybody

Morning all :D

Dull, overcast and the temperature has definitely taken a downward turn

I gave the lawn a good brush and hose down yesterday, it definitely needed it, looks much brighter now. Having artificial grass has been a boon, neither of us are up to regular mowing. Our garden is pretty low maintenance, most of the gaps are filled now so minimal weeding. The most energetic bit to do all year is the pruning as autumn approaches. No science involved I just get the shears and hack at everything, poor E has kittens, it's a wonder anything survives  I have to admit it does look a bit touch and go sometimes, but almost everything comes back even more bushy than before so I must be doing something right...…..or I'm just lucky 8-)

Not a lot happening today, we need more fruit and salad so we'll drive over to the small Tesco and if the weather stays dry we might park up and have a walk along the clifftop. Just seeing the sea makes me smile.

Have a good day :D

Afternoon everyone :D

Jen your garden does look lovely :D I'm another who believes in "kill or cure" when it comes to pruning - almost everything comes back much healthier for it 8-)

Jan that made me chuckle, about stopping your cleaning so as not to disturb Molly :D Pets soon get to rule the roost, don't they? ;)

Hope you've had a nice visit with Eliza, Crommers :)

Hi Saundra :)

Afternoon Crommers :)

Osc, it all sounds lovely! 8-)

Went into town with Em to meet up with the other WW helpers, catching up with the gossip over a snack lunch in M&S 8-) Then Em and I mooched round the shops for an hour :) A very pleasant day out in the sunshine :)

Some sad news from Sue next door, who popped round to collect a parcel. Her nephew was on holiday in the Med with his partner, when he got caught in a current swimming in the sea, and although the partner and another man got him onto dry land, by the time the medics arrived he had gone. 37 years old - really tragic :(
