Good Morning Friday

Postby JanB » 26 Jul 2019, 06:42

Morning everyone

Chilly wind but warm out of it and another lovely day 8-) Not as warm as you over there, I don't think, but heaven for us 8-)

Grumpy out rendering, before it gets too hot, Molly in, had breakfast, her morning brush and is now out again   I'm having a lazy start, but washing machine on and will probably get the cleaning done this morning.

Leisurely swim later and might even sit in the sun to dry off afterwards.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :)

Morning Jan, sadly I'm neither a grandparent nor Portuguese but the sentiment is appreciated :D  ;)

Not sure what I'm doing today yet, depends how hot it gets, although I think it's forecast a bit cooler 8-) Becky has had her hair lightened again, she's going gradually blonder! Head Kandy in the Quays, they're eye-wateringly expensive but really good ;) It suits her :)

Jo, Fraggle is back to full naughtiness again :D

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Morning Jan and Kaz, morning all

Jan, enjoy the day, sounds a perfect mix of busy and relax to me
Kaz, hope you have a good one as well whatever it is you end up doing. Would Becks agree to posting a photo of her; she's a super pretty girl as it is but with her weight loss and new hair do etc I bet she's looking stunning! She must be feeling so good and happy?

Sooooo much cooler today, 10 or so degrees lower than yesterday and rain and thunder overnight and this morning. Poor cats a lot happier; they didn't know what to do with themselves. I ordered some self cooling mats from Amazon, admittedly too late for this heatwave but they'll keep and be useful next time. The chickens less happy today - because of the heat I had to give them access to part of the garden; their run would have been far too hot. But today they're back behind locked gates and not happy and were rather vocal about it this morning :D

Lunch today is burgers - can't wait; yum

Have a lovely day everyone xxxx

Morning all :D

Hot again 8-) We had heavy rain, thunder and lightening yesterday evening and into the night. They say the temperature has dropped a bit, it's not noticeable though.

Managed to lie in until almost 8am, much better than the 6.30am when they were younger :D

We're off down to the harbour today. The plan is for the boys to let off a bit of steam on the beach before having lunch here https://www.jdwetherspoon.com/pubs/all- ... n-Ramsgate cheap and cheerful with fabulous views. I've no doubt we'll also have to stop at Sorbetto before we get back here

Have a good day :D

Much cooler now, and even a drop of rain blowing about! Talk about one extreme to the other  I caught the bus into town with B, in the end (she was on her way to work) but I will walk home ;) Loads of housework to do this afternoon - it's been too hot to do much this week

Ria, I will ask her :D We bought cooling mats for P and F last summer but they wouldn't use them

Jen, another few years and you'll be having to tip them out of bed  IME teenage boys will sleep the clock round, given half a chance ;) Have a good time :D xx

I hope all the grandparents in Portugal are happy today!
Hi Kaz, glad to hear Fraggle is back to full health. Ria, what a lovely thought for the cats. Jen, I bet you'll sleep tonight!
Much cooler here too after yesterday's scorchio temperature and humid night.
Eliza is back with her parents now; they had a lovely night at Oulton Hall where they got married five years since. When the Hall heard it was their anniversary they upgraded them to a suite, which was a lovely gesture. The dogs were fine too.
So we're in recovery mode today. The shopping has been done and we are thinking salad for tonight. We were thinking of going out but MrsC is jiggered. No problem though.
We've just had a gentle shower, which is nice.
Have a good rest of the day all.

Kaz, I'm so pleased to hear that Fraggle's back to his normal self :Hi:

It's cooled down a bit here! We're still at around 23c but it's a huge improvement on yesterday! I hadn't realised how well I'd managed to cool the house down, even though it was still uncomfortably warm, until I answered the door to my friend and the heat hit me :o

We sat outside after dinner until about 11. When I finally went to bed I lasted all of two minutes before grabbing my pillow and going downstairs to sleep on the sofa. It was much cooler in the living room.
I'd had to remove the fan from Joe's room while he was out and I put it back in the living room. When I initially went up to bed Tom took it from the living room and put it in his room so me and Joe were bemoaning the fact that we only have one fan when we met on the landing this morning and he said that once he'd had his shower we'd go out on a fan hunt  We eventually found one in Home Bargains, it's not brilliant but it'll do

Kaz, you'll have to post a pic of Becky's hair. She always looks lovely! Joe texted me the other day and asked if I'd be cross if he went somewhere to get his hair cut as I've always cut it for him. Of course I wouldn't be cross! He got it done yesterday, someone he knew from college is working in a barbers in Stafford. It looks really good, very Peaky Blinders.

Crommers, you'll sleep well tonight! What a lovely gesture from the hotel!

Good evening everybody.

We have had blue skies and it has tried to rain. There has been a cooling breeze but it is still hot. The clouds have come back.
Shopping at Asda this morning. Aftera coffee went to town for some more shopping. A van which sells fish comes on Tuesdays and Fridays. There are always customers waiting to be served.
Then I have broken up some wood and given it to a neighbour who hasa wood burning stove. Have painted two more sides of the shed and taken the dead flowers of the Evening Primrose plants. We have some both at the front and the back Had to come in as Mrs.e wanted me to order something from Ideal World. Likes me doing it on the computer so she has a printed record of her spends.
