Frank, that's brilliant advice - thanks so much for taking the time, I've copied it all and passed it on to him :D

Jo, I was stationed just outside Taddy at RAF Church Fenton and I have family and friends in Newton Kyme, Clifford and Boston Spa.... I also had a contract at the Thorpe Arch Ind Est (TAID) so I know my way around fairly well. The first part from Wighill to the fest is the route I used to use to get home from TAID, but at the Wattle Syke roundabout I took the Leeds option.

Time was when you could get to Bramhan Estate from Wighilll via Boston / Clifford but when they upgraded the A1 to (M) it got cut off.

Early night for us - the last few nights lack of sleep is still catching us up

The house dogs are still out and barking at cars on the track, but they will go in later.

Hoping for another quiet, peaceful night 8-)

It looks a lovely area Frank, I was having a nosy on Streetview and Google Earth.

I've never looked around Leeds itself, just driven with a friend to the university to pick up another friend who worked there before going to stay at her house in Otley.

It's a really old area, Jo, with many places mentioned in the Domesday Book and it is still relatively sparsely populated. A lot of the original parts of the villages are typical C16th or C17th and made of Yorkshire limestone - very chocolate box. The road from Leeds Uni to Otley (about 5 miles away) passes right past my place.

The Dales officially start only a mile or so outside Otley and in an arc from the north west to the east the only places of any size for many a mile are Harrogate and York. It's a day walkers paradise and on a 'reasonable' day you can't move for us, no matter where you go! ;) :D :D

And Saundra is right about shopping in Leeds, but get yer walking boots on as it's almost all a pedestrian precinct.

The fuel drivers strike which has been on, off, on and now off, is on again next month   Grumpy has always, since I've known him, run on a very small amount of fuel - which I hate :cute: :cute:

In my car, I was at least half full.

When I had to go to Castro Verde urgençia, he had to stop first, to get petrol. So he is a little better since then.

Now?

The tank is full  :Hi: :Hi:
