Morning Ally, morning everyone

Pleasant this morning, but warming up later 8-)

Enjoy putting everything back in your new cupboards Ally - then finding it later

Off to Ourique this morning, for breakfast and a gorgeous cup of coffee. The best coffee in the area and the best toasties too :D We're actually going there to get some tiles, but thought we'd make a morning of it. Also going to the big supermarket there, as they do some rather good rolls and Molly treats ;)

Back for a swim and then not a lot.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning everyone :D

Had the most amazing time in Crete with the family; it really was lovely. Got back yesterday morning; flight landed on time at 1.30am but we were held on a remote stand for quite some time; turns out that the flight was waiting for police. When we were due to take off one passenger started causing issues with the main air hostess because she was sitting where she shouldn't and was asked to move to her seat; anyway cut a long story short she eventually moved (sods law next to me !) and the moment the seatbelt lights went off she went back to the other seat (phew). Turns out that apparently during the flight she at one point tried to trip up the air hostess; good on EasyJet for taking staff abuse so seriously and the passenger was then questioned by the police when we landed. Not sure what the end result was but she really was totally in the wrong!

So with all that delay I only got to bed at 4am! Made yesterday a long day - spent most of it watering plants at home and at the allotment. Sadly my three favourite hydrangeas really suffered with the heat we had here in the UK and I think I'll have to cut them all right back next year spring and just hope for the best - I'm gutted! I just really didn't think to look at the UK forecast for when we were away so didn't make any arrangements for the garden and can now really kick myself.

Today I'm off to town for some groceries, then pick up my feathered girls from their chicken hotel and then back home - have a gas engineer coming between 12 and 5 to have a look at my boiler. So that means more lovely pootling at home / garden for the afternoon.

Too many posts to catch up on so will read them all next week when I'm back at work :D - more time there

Have a lovely day all and hope everyone is well?

Morning all, it's sunny here and forecast to be 19c.

I'm trying again to get the yesterday's washing dried, plus another load. We went over to Ikea last night to get some new towels, when we went a few weeks ago they were out of stock on the hand towels I wanted, so they've been washed this morning. It's sunny and breezy so should all dry quickly.

John left for Sunderland, or thereabouts, at 6am. He's hoping to be back tomorrow but isn't sure yet. It's a last minute thing (thought we'd done well to get through the Summer without him having to shoot off to site somewhere) as they've been let down by a steelwork supplier so he needs to check what's been delivered on site and what's still needed and then draw up a plan of action for whatever's missing. He wasn't happy about having to go at all.

Tom's just gone out, Joe's still in bed as it's his day off and the Tesco delivery will be here this afternoon.

Glad you had a good holiday Ria!

Have a good day all!

Good morning all, it was pleasant morning but noticeably cooler. Artur the builder was here until 10.15 last night making the roof weather proof - we thought he would never go and we went to bed as soon as he left  I don’t know how he does it, he was back at 9am. The window is operational now with a remote control and a rain sensor too. Still lots of work to be done but hopefully over the hump now, although I’d reckon there is at least today and tomorrow in it.

It’s Thursday so we have Michael and Kellie. Shortly we will head off to the driving range for Edward, Michael and Kellie to hit a few balls, and maybe hot chocolate in the cafe afterwards. This evening we’ll have tea in the pub next door as a last treat before they go back to school tomorrow.

Down to the nearly new / bankrupt stock furniture emporium in town for a bedside cabinet. Mrs O wants the two matching ones we have in the guest bedroom so has purloined one of the two from next to Ossie's camp bed.

Baulked a bit at the prices (decent sized one £89, miniscule sized one £49) but then found an end-of-line, reduced, decent-sized mock-pine one with three drawers for £49, so clinched the deal, loaded it up and drove it home.

:| Still seems a fair bit to me for a bedside cabinet, but there you go ….
