Enjoy your climb Ally :D Glad it's cooler for you 8-)

Morning all. Grey and autumnal here. Meeting a friend for a quick coffee at 10.30, then I have an appointment at Specsavers at 11.45 - my eyesight has definitely got worse since last time, so it will mean new specs for sure  I'm actually toying with the idea of trying contacts, but I'm a bit squeamish about my eyes, so am not sure..... :?

Have a good day everyone :) xxx

Morning Ally, Kaz and everyone

Cooler? Bluddy cold this morning in the wind   But the sun is out and it will get warmer, at least the hooley from yesterday has gone ;)

Late start, will have coffee and breakfast, then head off to Ourique. Popping into the police station, to see if we can find out what is going on. Then the normal runaround. Centro de Saude, Alentejana, Chinese shop and finally Pingo. Will stop off at Heldar's on the way back, to see if he has left the electric thingy Grumpy wants to borrow.

Back to do some gardening :Hi: Dead heading and feeding, hen hopefully, get in the pool. Not a hope of getting in yesterday, wouldn't have been able to get the cover back on, in the wind

I tried contact Kaz, for years, just couldn't get on with them. They'd pop out, disappear up the top of my eye and I just got fed up in the end.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all

It's Amelia's (my niece) birthday today - she's the youngest of the lot and turns 13 today. Where has the time flown? I'll be popping round there after work to wish her in person

Jan, hope you get everything done you want to get done
Kaz, good luck with the eye appointment. I currently have occupational lenses (so reading and computer distance) but am seriously thinking of varifocals for the next ones as this constant on / off whenever I need to see something further away is driving me scatty... :D
Ally enjoy the hike x

Well usual work day but hoping to leave early so I can get to see Amelia and get home early enough but we'll see

Have a lovely day everyone xxx

Good morning all, it is a beautiful day here. I need to tidy around, then make a shopping list. I am bringing two of my friends to the airport, then doing the supermarket shop and also popping to the opticians for my new glasses - they had to be sent back as one of the lenses was loose, but I just phoned now and they have arrived, hope they are ok this time. Better get moving.

Good morning all! Its quite warm and sunny here, we're forecast 21c.

It's utter mayhem around here, on the roads. Yet again the M6 is fully closed due to a lorry going through the central barriers last night between Jcts 12 and 13 and the northbound isn't expected to open until this evening according to Highways West Mids. All traffic is being diverted off onto the A5 and A449 but people are trying to bypass that and therefore the A34 through our village is affected. It's a bit clearer on the A34 now but when I went out at 8.30am to walk to town it was gridlocked in both directions all the way down and through town (which is 2 miles away).
Now, normally we'd just shrug our shoulders and get on with it BUT...Joe has an interview at South Staffs College at lunchtime, and South Staffs College is on the A449  He can go down the lanes for much of the way, it's only about 3 miles away, but he still has to use it for a mile or so to get into the campus itself.

Other than that, I'm just waiting for the Tesco delivery. I'm not sure if that'll be delayed because that's got to come from Stafford but it's due between 11 and 12.

Have a good day all!

Kaz, Joe loves his contacts. I didn't think he'd get on with them but he does. He has the daily ones from Specsavers. They cost us £25 a month, come through the post every 3 months and there's some kind of deal with that where he gets free eye tests and a free pair of glasses.

Morning all :D

Bit overcast and rain's forecast, dry for the moment though, hoping it stays that way.

We had a good tidy in the garden, front and back yesterday afternoon, both a bit stiff this morning. Hopefully our session at Blue Wave later sorts that out.

Have a good day :D

Good news, no change to my reading specs so only one pair needed, for long sight :) I passed the tests for glaucoma etc with flying colours, plus a new test they have that takes photos of each layer of the eye, giving far more advanced notice of any eye disease. I also got a free pair of prescription sunglasses, so I'm very happy on that front.

I have had some not so good news though, my old schoolfriend J - the one who did the family tree stuff - is having a mastectomy tomorrow, as she's just been diagnosed with BC :( Can I please ask for some VV vibes for her op tomorrow, and for her treatment going forwards?
