Good morning Saturday

Postby meriad » 28 Sep 2019, 07:19

Gosh, can't believe I'm the first one - good morning all and happy weekend :D

meant to be a mainly dry day today so will head to the allotment and harvest all the beetroot and try do a bit of a tidy. Probably left the beetroot a bit too long and some will be quite woody but hopefully I'll still get a decent amount. I treated myself to a food vacuum sealer thing so will give that a try instead of pickling them. General pootling about otherwise, nothing major planned.

Have a lovely day everyone xx

Good morning Ria, I hope the weather stays dry for you. It's been raining here but has stopped now. Not much on here either. I was going to go to Huddersfield target shooting but the weather looks a bit grim.
Thanks for all the good wishes and advice re FiL. Jo did make me laugh when she said her mother in law expected other people to do her exercises for her!
Our neighbour Sergio has brought us some pasta for tonight, bless him, so that's the evening meal sorted.
Have a good day all.

PS I nearly forgot. Son in law saw Stuart "Psycho" Pearce, ex-Endland football player in a cafe in Walton just two miles down the road! Apparently he lives there down The Balk (posh road). Phil Babb ex-Liverpool and Republic of Ireland has also been seen jogging around our village, so he can't live too far off. Chris Kamara used to live in Sandal (about four miles away) too. Still might do for all I know. Strange how these ex-Premiership footballers are turning up around here!

Morning Ria, Cromwell.

It's persisting it down here and looks set for some time yet.

I was going to give the front door another lick of paint and redo the red brick surround but that looks less likely now so it's just a bit of shopping and rugby on the TV.

Keep dry and enjoy your day everyone.

Goooood morning and hello. :D :D :D :D

Temps still sitting at 30 degrees which, let me tell you after months of 40+, is rather lovely. 8-)

Going for a swim shortly then picking dad up at 1pm and bringing him over here for the day.

We're going to Gambrinus for lunch and what dad doesn't know is Jacob and Conor will be sitting there waiting for him. :D :D

This happened last Saturday too when Michele and Mark were here....good job dad likes surprises!

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny here today 8-)

Enjoy lunch with your dad Ally, what a lovely surprise for him. How long is he over with you this time?

Hba1c result is 43 the same as last time, so I'm still nicely down in the pre diabetic range :D Good to know I've not become too complacent. Off to have the flu jab in an hour or so. It's a walk in clinic, goes on till 3pm so we've plenty of time.

Have a good day :D

Afternoon all, it is a pleasant day here. Edward was up early watching the rugby - not a good result for Ireland. Then we went to do a supermarket shop and I collected a new pair of glasses. I’m going to pop up to the library this afternoon but otherwise nothing much planned. There is so much I could do, if I could be bothered

Our doctor is keen for us to have the flu jab this year, we have never had it, and actually only ever had one dose of flu even though we spent all those years exposed to all the germs coming our way while working. I am not sure about having it although Edward plans to.
