We've laid out and dried off all those conkers we picked off the floor round the nearby chestnut tree yesterday.
I'd estimated between us, we'd picked up 50. Turns out I undershot that figure somewhat …..

Now, what can you do with 107 conkers?

Bluddy hot today. Stopped at the bar for a coffee, as Odette loves to see the family. Mertola was sticking hot, full of flies and tourists (yes, I know we were too ) It's a lovely drive, from here to Mértola, and we stopped at Castro Verde on the way back, but will do the proper visit on Thursday, for breakfast and a walk around.

Dinner tonight was a bbq and Shaun has asked all the recipes, for favas, white bean salad and black bean salad. He's the cook in the family. I taught him well

But all the walking up and down the hills in Mértola has made my knees hurt rather a lot and have almost fallen over twice, as the right knee gave way

Will slap on a load of deep heat - stink the house out, but hey ho

They go to bed early, as they're used to getting up at 5.00 am so might struggle tomorrow night, as we're out for dinner.
