It is Osc. Admittedly I don't HAVE to do it, as even with Brexit I would have a right to remain etc; but my life is here now - I've paid more in the UK in taxes etc that I don't want to in any way form or shape ever risk a cut in pension payout etc because at some point some clever clogg decides to impost a higher tax on foreign passport holders. I know they shouldn't and the likelihood of it happening is slim to none but still - it's my one irrational fear. The UK is my home so may as well get the UK Citizenship and passport and then also have the right to vote And the only reason I need to get a crack on is because Germany doesn't allow dual passports unless both are EU passports. So once the UK has left the EU I need to apply for a permit to hold both and that again costs money. It's all a money making scam it really is.... So far I had to pay £80 for my Indefinitely Leave to Remain; £50 for the "Life in the UK" test and then another £150 for my English language test - a 10 minute verbal test to confirm that I can speak English. Then it's the £1350 for the naturlisation, then another £100 or so for the citizen ceremony and then a final £80 for the passport - so all in all not the cheapest; but worth it in the long run
