After spending over 3 hours on the phone the other week, speaking to about 20 different people, being cut off when I was being transferred to yet another department, being told that the router is out of warranty and I will therefore have to pay for a new one, being told that I had to take it down to either Albufeira or up to Beja, to get a free replacement
Last Tuesday, Jan very kindly took me down to Albufeira, to the meo shop, as I didn't have a clue where it was. Spent half an hour waiting to be seen, only to be told that they don't carry replacement and I would have to have a technician come to the house This would happen within 7 working days. Lost my temper a little and explained what had been happening, just got the shoulder shrug She got the technical department to ring me there and then and I was waiting to be told when the technician was come to see me, when I was yet again, cut off. By this time, Jan had come back and she went into outraged Portuguese lady mode Rather a scary sight
The upshot was I filled in the complaints book. Now, this is very very serious in Portugal. It goes against the company, black marks all round and sometimes, it is deemed so serious, the police are called.
In my case, I had a phone call within the hour, from a very apologetic young man, in perfect English. And although I had to go through the whole rigmarole, nif number, address, problem, he promised me a new router would be delivered, to my door, within 4 days.
It arrived at the bar yesterday
