Toasties.

Does anyone still make them?

I have just dug out my toastie maker so that I can have a warm lunch instead of cold sandwiches. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed cheese and onion / tomato, ham and tomato, chicken and mushroom ...

I am now looking for new recipes.

We are now buying a small white loaf with thick slices. Makes lovely toast. Had some with pate on for lunch yesterday.
Had some with mushrooms on last wek.

When I was young used to toast using a long fork on the open fire. There used to be a saying-Burnt blck and scrapped brown!! The good old days
