Good morning Saturday

Postby Ally » 14 Dec 2019, 07:35

Good morning.

Cloudy sunshine and stuck at 20 degrees again. :)

Off for a hilly walk with the personal trainer.

Conor's coming over late morning and is taking us out for lunch. 8-) Jacob's been in Rome since Monday and today makes his way to Florence...somewhere I've always wanted to visit.

Out tonight with a few friends for a birthday celebration.

Have a great day.

Morning Ally. Good lad Conor!
Re-hanging some pictures today as the lounge is finished painting, and moving some of the furniture back and putting the new curtains up. Then doing a little cooking.
MrsC and sis to their dad's soon.
It has stopped raining now thank the Lord and it's a nice morning.
Have a good day all.

Morning Ally, Crommers and everyone

Mist slowly clearing - means the internet is now working  - a :( :( nd the sun is coming out, so hopefully, a lovely day.

Washing machine on. I have a wresting match with Grumpy and his clothes, but one of his jackets and a pair of jeans are now in the wash. Honestly, he's like a 2 year old sometimes, not wanting to part with things.

Another day of not sure what we'll do. It's been raining, so no work in the garden, apart from a stroll around and picking out the weeds in the "lawn" and on the bank.

Curry for dinner and I'm trying a different recipe for tandoori potatoes.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all, it is a nice bright day but I think it is cold. The running club that Miss Osc used to run with (she’s taking a break at the moment) are having their Christmas event, based just beside our house, so plenty of coming and going. Plenty to do today, h/work and I want to write the Christmas cards. We’ll get out for a walk around the block too, then settle down for the Strictly final, really looking forward to it as it has been a very good season this year - I know who I think will win, but I also know who I want to win and they are not the same people  :x

Good morning all, it can't make it's mind up here today. We've got bright sunshine at the moment but we had some light snow 20 minutes ago which was followed by heavy rain.

We've walked Billy and I popped into Tesco on the way. Shannon arrived soon after we got home and she and Tom have just left to drive to Cardiff to visit John's Mom, they'll be back tomorrow afternoon.

We're going to see my parents this afternoon and will take my Dad to the cemetery so that he can put a Christmas wreath on my Nan and Grandad's grave.

We got home just after Midnight last night from John's night out. It was at a fancy hotel near Sutton Coldfield but the meal was pretty poor. The mash was definitely instant, and there was someone on our table who'd ordered salmon and that was served with a piece of salmon placed on top of the turkey dinner  Still, it was nice to catch up with people and meet the new people who've joined the company in the last year. John's new apprentice was there. He's such a lovely lad. I went to school with his uncle, John went out with his mother for a time (but O doesn't know that, just that they know each other) and it turns out that his girlfriend is a friend of Joe's.

Have a good day all!

Morning all :)

We have sunshine here, not as warm as Gran Canaria but welcome all the same :D

The coach trip back to the airport was trying, think we must have stopped at every Tui hotel on the island. I could see it was really difficult for poor E, the seats are so close together he couldn't stretch his legs at all so by the time we got there he was in a lot of pain. Lesson learned, we booked private transfers in Turkey, will be doing that again in future. Thank goodness for special assistance, it worked very well. The flight itself was fine, we always book extra leg room and even better we had three seats to spread ourselves over. We got home about 10.30ish, I made us a nice milky coffee, E took more painkillers and we've both had a good night.

So glad we did the tree and decs before we went, it was lovely walking back in and see everything ready for Christmas.

Not the utility room though, that's a bit like a Chinese laundry, piles of washing all over the floor. Think I'll be at it for a couple of days

Hope you all have a good day :)

That's pretty appalling Jo

Did she eat it?

That's the trouble Jen, isn't it? Stopping literally everywhere on the way to and from your hotel.

Afternoon everyone :)

Ally, my sister went to Florence a few years ago, and "did" the art galleries - she loved it :D xx

Jan, that made me laugh  Mick is a bit like that, with the fleecy lined Gap hoodie he wears at his desk all winter :?

Osc, I hope you enjoy the Strictly final, I haven't got into it this year :? x

Nicely done Crommers, all ready for Christmas :D

Jo, that salmon business made giggle! What the heck???!!! :?

Jen, I hate that about coach transfers too! I think we have a taxi transfer for Corfu this time :)

Oh Cruiser, how lovely! Lucky you :D

Well it's been a funny old day here - rain this morning at 8.30 when I walked up to my SW meeting, then lovely sunshine, then grey and windy :? No B today, she's working. It was the SW Christmas party - if you can call it a party at 9am   We all took in SW friendly nibbles - I made cheese straws, from a SW recipe ;)

Then we nipped to see D, as per, but whilst there Mick got a callout so he had to come home. I walked up to Sainsbury's as we were nearly out of bread - I used lots for the cheese twists last night. Thankfully this is his last ever weekend doing callout as such, he'll just be back-up for the other guys doing it, in case they get stuck. So he'll get his callout pay, but won't (hopefully) get called

I'm tackling my least fave task of the Christmas run-up tonight - the present wrapping! I'll shut myself in the bedroom and just crack on - can't do it downstairs as the dogs get too excited at all the bright paper and trimmings, and try to "help" :x

Love to all :) xxx
