Whoop Whoop Whoop - it is done!

Postby meriad » 21 Jan 2020, 13:49

I got home last night and found a brown envelope on my floor - my citizenship application has been approved! Citizen ceremony is booked for next Thursday 30th and once that is done I will officially be a British Citizen and can then apply for my UK passport.

I can either go for a free group ceremony in Kingston on the 19th of Feb or pay £100 for a private one next week in Weybridge - so I'm going for the latter as it's before the 31st (not that that is really needed, but still) but it really is a lot easier to get to and it works timing wise that Nadine can join me as a guest and we can have a celebratory lunch afterwards. At this point the whole process has cost so much money anyway I may as well do the private one (besides which I thought I had to pay anyway).

So there we are - end next week I'll officially have dual-citizenship :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi:

Very well done, Ria! :D

But it doesn't stop there, you know - for the Advanced Stage of Citizenship, you have to go take courses up in Yorkshire on how to brew tea and talk proper!
