I only watch it because I am madly in love with Gillian...

OK, that's not really true, but... The acting, the characters and the stories are so believable and so well done.

I don't live in Halifax, not many of us do, but I bet we know plenty of Celias, Alans, Gillians, Carolines and their likes.

Tom thinks she is a great actress (Gillian) but her diction is soooo slow....it's quite distracting at times

But yep - loving all the bits of Last Tango :D 8-)

I like how Gillian speaks, it's like she's considering everything she says and being careful not to blurt out the wrong thing.

John watched the new episode and when Celia was quietly seething at the dinner table, before she had her rant, John said "that's reminded me that I must ring my mother"

Agreed, but then she does it in The Split also, and when she was in Unforgotten. It's clearly part of her (the actress) but a little distracting.

I just realised that Caroline has my ex's phone voice. :o

When she's with 'professional' people she is 'Yorkshire posh' but when she's with the family she is more down to earth.
