Saundra, I think that what the doctor's are doing is trying to get you to download and use an app from Google Play. The app might not work on a Kindle.

Seriously, I would cut out the middle man and pay a visit to the docs and let them sort it out properly.

Is this some sort of change in the system from 1st April, Saundra?

We both have repeat prescriptions and we put a chitty in at the surgery each month; they then electronically send it over the chemist, they make it up and we collect from there. There's nothing about any change in the way they organize it that we've been told about, having to go on-line or anything ….

You can re-order repeat prescriptions on-line at our surgery, but it's optional.

Saundra the system I think you might mean is system online. You get a user name and password from your doctors surgery. Then every month, you log on, order your prescriptions and either have them delivered or collect them from the chemist. I do mine via my iPad or PC.

See if that link works and if it looks familiar

I use the system Saundra wants to use - no apps, no Google, no Amazon, no Apple - just any old web browser to get to your own doctor's surgery website. Once there you can make an appointment for the doctor, nurse, podiatrist, midwife (though I guess Saundra will not need that service :P ) order repeating repeat prescriptions and also order drugs you have had in the past but only use as and when.

However, in order to use it you have to get a "one time" Username and Password from the surgery and you have to attend to get it. Once you have logged in you set up your account, scrips and so on, you then change the Username and Password to something familiar to you. That's why I am saying that Saundra should take her Kindle in, She has to be there to get the "one time" U & P so she might as well ask the staff to help her set things up and get them working properly.

We have been ordering repeat pescriptions using our computer.
We have a user ID, an eleven digit number and a pass word.
It is a very good system. The web site shows the full list pf prescriptions and we only order the ones we want.
We pick them up at our local chemist two days after we order.

Our doctors use exactly the same system, and it works very well.
To use it you first have to ask at the Doctors surgery and get their permission.
It works very well.
