Jan, that's terrifying. I hope he pulls through xxx

After chatting at great length with dad and Michele it's been decided that the best bet is for dad to stay at home.

Rafa, whose brother it is that lets the apartment out, has very kindly said he'll honour dad's deposit and when things settle down dad can rebook for a month another time.

I'm absolutely gutted dad can't get over but it is what it is. I've had a cry which did me good.

There are some really good and kind people on this planet - well done that man.

Best that we all stay where we re, but I understand how upsetting it for you Ally. And well done Rafe.

Just been chatting to Mitchell, he was told by the doc doing an mri on him on Thursday that if he caught it, he'd be dead  I'll do some shopping for him next week, but leave it by his gate.

Thank for the good wishes about John x

I've worked out what I need from the supermarket next week and then we can stay here for about 3 weeks, completely undisturbed 8-)

The Portuguese and Spanish governments are deciding on Monday whether to shut the border between us. As it is, a lot of camper vans are coming in, from Spain.

I'll third it!

Take care of yourself Al, it's such a scary time. I think you've all definitely made the right decision for your Dad, as hard as it is.
Me and Julie, my sister, have been nagging our Dad this afternoon because he's always off out to one shop or another or to help someone and he's 87 next month, generally quite healthy considering his age but he does have mild asthma. It half crossed my mind to confiscate his shoes.

I don't think we're going to go on holiday. The UK is now on Trump's banned list, not sure how long that's in force for but regardless, Virgin have a message on their site saying that anyone who is travelling before the end of May can rearrange without charge to travel before the end of the year. I'd rather do that than chance going in May.

Jeez I am being an Uber geek now. :?

Was chatting to a friend earlier and she was telling me how much hubby Miguel loved guns n roses. Before my brain even kicked in I found myself offering to sell my tickets for the gig in Seville in May. :o :o

Don and I had been talking earlier about the ban on crowds and get-togethers. Yes I've probably over reacted but given what's happening right now in Spain (total lockdown from 8am Monday) and given I want dad over and don't want to jeopardize this in any way (if I can help it) it seems the right thing to do.

Don and I went out around 5pm this evening and walked from top to bottom and round about our town. Normally a thriving full of life place it has been reduced to a ghost town.
Unless this is happening around you I can't begin to tell you how surreal this all is.

As Don said, if we can't get out for our usual walks and runs, we can always chase each other round the garden. And we have the pool to keep exercising.

These are very strange times. :o

LOL at Don

Not silly at all with the tickets though Al. As much as I love love LOVE Green Day I'm already questioning whether I should go and see them in June if this hasn't calmed down by then, with me being in the at risk group, and at the moment I don't think I will.

That is, of course, if it hasn't been cancelled. And that goes for your concert too. Green Day already cancelled the Asian leg of the tour some weeks ago, before this had really taken hold in the rest of the world, and when you think of all of the forward planning that has to go into each show and the uncertainty everywhere at the moment, I really wouldn't be surprised if there's an announcement before long.

The Alentejo - the largest district in Portugal and also the least populated - still has no cases of the virus :D
