Good morning all, happy Monday

another glorious, albeit chilly start to the day. Was woken early by the chickens making a racket; I need to check the setting on their coop door; it's meant to open at 6am only but for some reason it was open at 5.30am - and they're loud when they come out their coop and into the run - they just want to get into their bit of the garden. So needless to say I jumped out of bed as quick as I could to let them out before they woke the neighbourhood

Another work from home day - we found out yesterday that our head office in the US will remain closed with everyone working from home until end April. Not sure how long we'll be expected to do the same; obviously all depends on the situation here.

8.45am vet appointment for one of my cats - follow up to a procedure he has last week

and then wfh with a bit of pootling mixed in

Good morning Ria, morning everyone.

Gorgeous sunshine.

I had 24 hours away from social media yesterday....very refreshing.

Swimming, reading and keeping busy when we feel the need. We've got various exercise 'bits' here. Don's got a boxing punch which he's put up in the basement. I've got 2 skipping ropes, one of those big exercise balls and four 5kg hand weights. Yesterday we set up a circuit. Between that and swimming, if nothing else, we'll be as fit as fleas when all this is over.

I'll be browsing my Jamie for a recipe for dinner tonight.

Foggy start, which has put the kibosh on the washing this morning Might also have put a stop to the strimming this afternoon too

So we'll just play things by ear today.

Supposed to be sunny, which it might be once the fog has lifted. Our internet is slow enough as it is, without the fog and then the more people on the internet. Almost gave up yesterday, everything is really slow.

Good morning. It is a lovely morning here. I hope the puss is OK Ria. Whiskers used to hate the vet with a passion!
We have no plans to go anywhere atm. If we do it will be a car ride out and that's all.
The dog at Streethouse has chewed up her Uncle Jud's hearing aid and he keeps falling over. (Jud, not the dog). He has fallen again and they have taken him into Dewsbury hospital.Plus MrsC's dad was very confused yesterday.
Change- MrsC is off to see her dad.
That's about it.

edited to add - My laptop has always gone straight to a black screen if I tried to run it when it was plugged in. I've always just lived with it but with being stuck in the house and having time on my hands I decided to see if it was a known fault. It is, and now I've fixed it.

Good morning, it is not too bad out there although it looks windy. I hope to get out for some air later. I have had a difficult weekend, compounded by not sleeping well - I am ok physically but mentally have been struggling, and I am the sort of person who always copes with stuff so this came as a shock. However, today is a new day in this weird world we are all inhabiting. The weekend was mental here in Howth, the place was crammed, worse than the hottest summer Sunday, jamming up the road and mad queues for fish and chips. What part of social distancing do they not get

Edward has been out to our local mini-supermarket and got most of what we needed. We tried to do an online shop last night but the first delivery date was 5th April Miss Osc will include us in her Tesco one at the weekend. We are mostly self-isolating, Miss Osc brought the children down yesterday, they stood just inside the door while we sat across the room. Poor Kellie doesn't really understand why she can’t give us the usual hugs and kisses.

Good morning all, another sunny but cold day down here. Everywhere seems very quiet, few dog walkers or cars on the road.

Thoughts for you, Osc, and all others who are finding it difficult as we plough out way through this wretched crisis.

My S has seen a communication trying to recall all serving police officers who have left within the last 3 years and asking all longer-retired officers, like her, if they would like to volunteer for backroom duties. She must have retired about 15 years ago, but is shining her badge and polishing her truncheon as we speak. I asked her what her aim was like with a taser and her reply was along the lines of "you're so wide, you'd be difficult to miss!" I don't think she will return to the ranks at this point, but interestingly she didn't rule it out if things got more difficult.

Tested the ancient PAYG "burner phone" we keep in the car and had the usual palaver trying to get a signal from EE - nothing outside but 3 bars in the kitchen; usually it's the other way round

Otherwise, another day in lockdown. We will make a batch of soup using most of the fresh veg we managed to buy last Friday, and we have curtains to hang ....

Good morning all, it’s a lovely sunny one here and I enjoyed a bit of normality earlier when I walked Bill.

John and Joe are both in work, although John will be home after today. Tom’s home and is studying, although we’ve just amused ourselves watching the kids next door, who are being homeschooled by their Dad (their mother is a teacher so still working) , having playtime in the garden. They were running around kicking lumps out of each other while Dan, their Dad, was staring at his phone screen. He’s a lovely fella but he’s a bit hopeless and Becky, their mother, must be despairing at leaving him in charge as he has no control over the boys.

This weekend our local Fb page was full of pictures of people having drink parties down at the harbour and along the beach front. They must have brought booze with them as all the pubs and cafes were closed. Honestly it does make me despair

Had a good chat with my sister in Oz, their government announced a shut down of pubs/restaurants etc last night. She feels they're in a much better position over there as all travel into the country has been stopped. She and BIL intend to carry on as usual, he's still playing golf and she was off out for a picnic with friends by the river. I hate to say it, but I feel they're being a bit complacent, the virus is already there and they have quite a lot of cases in Queensland where they live. I don't think it will be too long before they're in lockdown too. Mind you, I'd find it easier to isolate there, they have a lovely garden with a nice big swimming pool.

Not much happening here, we're thinking of getting out in the garden for a good tidy up later.
