Thanks all, he’s now home but was sent without painkillers and instructions for my Mom to get a prescription from the GP. She’s just called to see if we can pick it up from Tesco tonight as it’s being sent electronically.

Easy normally but a bloody nightmare at the moment. I’ve asked her to call Tesco’s pharmacy and check what time they’re open until and if they’ve actually received the prescription, because whoever goes will have to queue outside for heaven knows how long so I want to be certain that once inside it’ll be there and ready.

Good thinking, Jo. Our Asda has changed its opening times to close at 8 pm - 7:30 pm to close is a quiet time - allegedly. Its early-doors hour is for OAP, NHS and things like prescriptions so it would be worth a call. Mind you it is bad order for them not to have given him a hospital supply to come home with just to tide him over.

Not very good, sending your D home without painkillers, Jo, especially when they must know what a circus it is to get any medication out of a GP and a pharmacy at the moment ...
