Lovely and sunny

Plenty of reading going on here too Ally, I've never had a problem with shutting off while I read, E always says it's almost impossible to get my attention once I get my head stuck in a book

We're so lucky here, our garden is always full of birds, and with the back of the house being floor to ceiling glass we can enjoy watching them every day.

Think all our days are rolling into one, I have to check what day it is most mornings Thank goodness for our paper delivery, look forward to the crossword every day. Not much happening, I've popped a casserole in the slow cooker and that's about it.

All fairly painless this morning.

Got the water in the other supermarket and wine

No problem in the hardware shop, marco is only letting one person in at a time and everything is closed off anyway, but he and Grumpy went off to get what he wanted. Small queue for Pingo but in and out no problem. Huge queue at the chemist, so I didn't bother, we have a couple more months left on the prescription before they run out.

Bit of a pain that, Crommers, you'd have thought the care home would have sorted it before now.

We have quite a variety of birds regularly in our garden Crommers. Blackbirds, thrush, blue tits, crows, wood pigeons, finches, sparrows and lots more. Not that I'm very good at knowing which is which, but E does. Our predecessor put three bird boxes at the top of the fence at the back of our garden so we often have birds nesting too.

Hello all!

I have tried cleaning the fabric sofa this morning and wish I could get my living room curtains down to wash (even though it says dry clean only - pah!) but I can't so I plan on a walk (not been out of the house since Friday!) shortly and then sit in the garden this afternoon, while it's lovely. Has to be a lot cooler tomorrow and onwards. I do feel sorry for those who thrive on company, I am ambidextrous, LOL, I can do both but I'm quite happy entertaining myself atm.

Tom is working today!!! He got a call yesterday and basically volunteered...he has ONE lady on his bus and has gone right up into Weardale to collect her and take her shopping to Barnard Castle, then he'll take her home and then get home sometime after 4.30. I'm not happy that his day tomorrow is a Link day, where he may have more people on his bus.

I am another who can get completely lost in a book, in fact I am glad I can as it's a wonderful distraction! Also, like Jen we have started having a paper delivered, just our local one but it has a wicked daily cryptic crossword, and that keeps me out of mischief for a bit too!

We have a couple of bird nests in bushes which are overhanging the garden, I hear birdsong all the time! I would put bird food out but sadly it attracts rats. Luckily I haven't seen any but our neighbour has!

Just an observation, you ladies who can 'lose' yourselves like that in a book, and get totally engrossed, would be good hypnosis subjects, as that's a mild from of self-hypnosis

Crommers, you did mention but my sincere condolences again, and that is awkward, about the death cert

Cruiser we made our will last year, after Nick's aunt died and left confusion behind her, and I have said to Mick since the lockdown that I'm glad we did!

It's a beautiful day here - I've been gardening, emptying the pots of the spring bulbs which have died back, in preparation of the summer plants I ordered. I just hope they arrive
