Good Morning Wednesday

Postby JanB » 22 Apr 2020, 07:00

Morning everyone

Lovely, sunny morning, but with a brisk breeze 8-)

Washing machine on at last and with this wind, it'll soon dry.

Molly has discovered that if she howls loud enough, I can hear her through the front door, so was woken up at 7.30

Will go down to our nice neighbours house as I've been asked to take some photos of their garden. They would still have been here and Rita loves gardening, so happy to do that. We'll water the "inside" plants whilst down there. Jose Felipe was there strimming yesterday, so all will look tidy.

I'll then risk the wrath of Grumpy and my back and take a wander around our wilderness that is the garden, digging up the really nasty weeds. The one's that irritate my skin and take over a lot of ground. All ready for strimming in a day or so.

Have as good a day as you can everyone xx

Morning all :)

Take care of your back Jan ;) xxx

Ally I am desperate for eggs, there was no shortage around here until this past week, but now I can't find them anywhere  I like to buy free-range organic, but B works very near to a Farm Foods frozen food shop, and is going to try them today - feel a bit guilty as I told her to get whatever type she can  I baked last week Al, a jam sponge, but have a nice recipe from D for oat and raisin cookies, if I can get honey at Sainsbury's tomorrow 8-)

About to start my Zoom zumba class, then I have a heap of ironing and some cleaning to do.

Have a good day everyone, stay safe :) xx

That's a nice neighbour to have Ally. Jan, mind your back. Kaz, it was the other way with us. You couldn't get eggs for love nor money but now you can.
Same old same old today, but FiL needs stuff from Aldi and B and M today. They do say that Aldi is still accepting cash, we'll see.
Another bright, sunny but cool morning. I put the bin out last night and boy, it was properly chilly out there!
Have a good day all.

Good morning all, it’s another lovely one here.

I’ve walked Billy, been home to wait for a parcel for Joe which thankfully came early and now I’m out out!!! We’re having a road trip :Hi:
John’s had to come into the (deserted) office in Lichfield to print off some drawings (we’ve got a printer at home but these need to be much much bigger than A4) and then, and I don’t want you all getting jealous, we’re driving to...an industrial estate in Wolverhampton to post them through the door of a factory there.

Kaz and Crommers, I’m midway between the two of you and we haven’t been able to get eggs for weeks and still can’t!

Much love to you all xx

Morning all,

I've finished working in the hall for Mrs S, culminating in drilling a foot long hole through a solid oak beam to hide a wire which was exposed when we lifted the ceiling back up. Today I have a steel I beam to bolt and weld into place, I have to concrete the bottom and clear the area all around the wall it is replacing.

Tomorrow my son and I will knock the wall down.

Kaz, it must be that people are rediscovering the wonders of actually cooking and using eggs for something other than a few eggs at breakfast. Whilst we export 300m tonnes of eggs a year, it still doesn't mean that hens lay eggs any more frequently, If demand goes up by double, capacity remains the same for quite a while.

Here it is almost 100% back to normal though. Nobody panic buying and supply chains continue. But the French in the country are just cooking what they normally cook, lockdown or not. So our supply remains normal.

Jan, I'm sure you know all of this, but change of heights regularly, don't do any one thing like bending for too long and kneel rather than bend over, with back as straight as possible.

We're all pretty sore here with all the constant stuff we're doing,I spent 10 minutes digging splinters and bits of metal out of my hands this morning. The hot tub is great but it's inflatable and has developed a pinhole in one seam. OK for 20 minutes after inflating but goes down every day. Have to try and get that sorted later this week. The problem is you just about have to empty it to fix it and that is another day to heat up again. Have a great day all.

Morning all.... I started replying about two hours ago and then got busy vacuuming and steam mopping some of the floors. The clean the chicken coop and run and move them to the front of the house so they can scratch about on the lawn. Then a bit of work in between - amazing how busy one can be doing not very much :D

Going to plant up my hanging baskets today and pot up some veg plants that I've grown - the seeds came up super quick and strong so I'm pleased. Just hope the chilli plants do the same - I was too late for them as it is but really hope that I can get a decent harvest just be it later in the year.

As for eggs.... I'm just so glad I've got my girls and have enough for myself and can fairly regularly supply Karl and Nadine as well as the closest neighbours - it may not be many but anything is better than nothing. A bit short the past few days though as I gave some to the postie, and some to two people who did a favour for me. So hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things so everyone has again

Jan, do take it easy and Suff, you too

Have a lovely day everyone x

A very enjoyable hour or so, pulling up the big weeds - some about 2 feet tall

Yes, Suff, I w as careful, wandered around the garden then went onto the bank to pull up from there, so not really bending down ;)

And the first thing I did? Cut a hole in my hand  My skin is paper thin because of years of steroids, so I cut very easily and then bleed a lot.

Just having a rest, then we'll head down to the bar - sadly not for a beer, but to drop off the recycling, then do our neighbours on the way back. That way, Grumpy doesn't have to walk down the drive and back up the huge mountain

Morning all :D

Lovely bright and sunny here 8-)

Ouch to your cut hand Jan, hope it doesn't take too long to heal.
We almost ran out of eggs last week, but our lovely neighbour was able to get some for us.

Well my shredding has come to a halt, the blasted thing has conked out, beginning to wonder what will break next. I've ordered a new one from Amazon, but it won't arrive until the 28th. Of course there are lots of other things on the 'to do' list, but whether I'll actually work up enough enthusiasm to start them is another thing.......

Our weekly Sainsbury delivery is due this afternoon, the e-mail I've just seen says it will only be missing one item :D

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx
