  I have said all along that as soon as they significantly relax the regulations, the weather would revert to usual Irish summer and so it has come to pass  It’s dull, windy and cold with lots of rain forecast for later, and people are wearing woolly hats  We are having a lazy day although Edward is doing some baking. No plans whatsoever. They have brought forward a lot of the stages on our roadmap, but hairdressers still closed until 20th July :x

Typical isn’t it?!

My hairdresser has put info online for when they reopen, masks being one requirement. I’m only ever in there for 15 minutes at the most so it’s not really a problem but I feel for anyone who may be having a colour and will be in for a few hours.
At least there’ll be no “been anywhere nice for your holidays?” chat

Good afternoon - damp here in Dorset, with the odd rain-shower and some blustery wind. We desperately needed the rain; the new water-butt is now beginning to accumulate some water.

Pain about your "leal", Cruiser, hope you get it sorted. Both our toilets were efficiently repaired yesterday morning - "cheap plastic crap" was the plumber's verdict on the original cistern fittings. The lady painter finished off the hallway and one bedroom with a flourish, so this weekend is shifting furniture around to prep the next rooms for her.

I did a supermarket run late yesterday evening to top up for the next week - 10 days. The lass at the delicatessen counter said they had got facemasks to issue to staff, upstairs, but nobody had instructed them to wear them yet. I would have said a few more folk were wearing masks than before, but still less than 20%. Of course, it's only a snapshop at the time I went .....

We have just completed baking, the rock cakes are hot out of the oven, so have a good day all, as Ossie must rapidly >>>>>>> (stage right) to secure his plunder

I was wondering if they might limit treatments to a simple dry cut only, initially. Our local hairdressers and barbers are hoping to open soon, but nothing is apparently writ in stone. My barber has said he's going to a full appointment system (understandably) so he'll be inundated for the first few weeks. I'll not be in a rush to go, although I look like Christopher Lloyd in "Back to the Future"! Most hair I've had for at least 5 years .....

After phoning our insurance company before 11.00 a.m, got a text message to say an engineer would be here between11.45 a.m and 5.00 p.m.

It is now 14.00 p.m and he has been and put sealent on the gap between the original lead flashing and the joint in the brick work. Hopefully this will stop the leak if we have any more rain and strong winds.
The engineer said the lead coild have expanded in the hot weather we have had last month forcing some of the original mortar out . This would have left a gap and rain would have been blown in.
Very good servive and we have only been on cover since 1st June 2020.
Well worth the premium for peace of mind.

I think my hairdresser is currently planning on offering a pretty full range of treatments, she mentioned in the message that you can bring your own reading material as there won’t be any magazines available. They don’t have a large turnover of customers in and out of the salon anyway. The owner does mostly beauty so is in a different room, there’s one stylist who does hair and there’s an apprentice.

Saundra, I wondered that too. And she sort of confused matters by saying that they’ll only be offering drinks in disposable cups. Surely to drink you’ll have to take your mask off?

I wore one of my home made masks for the first time yesterday when I popped to The Range....I say 'popped', the queue alone was about 25 minutes wait, and then you can't browse properly any more as others are wanting to be where you are! Shopping is definitely not good any more - it's get what you want and leave! And then waiting in a queue to pay.....well!!

So, the foot is still not right!! I have started today to wear a support bandage over it which is helping a little. First thing in the morning is ok, it's when I have been walking round the house, come teatime, it's very painful and I can't take ibuprofen with having high BP (I did yesterday but daren't do it too much). It's like my whole lower leg now as well as my ankle....I'm thinking torn ligaments or soft tissue - no idea how I've done it but suffice to say I haven't done anywhere near 10k steps in about 9 days! :(

We were running out of porridge so Tom kindly went to wait in the Asda queue to buy it, along with other bits. No other plans for today, will likely start a new book on my kindle - and sit inside as since Tuesday the weather has nosedived!! May is my favourite month, and his year especially it has shone.....but June feels like March - chilly with a strong wind and heavy showers  We are stuck with this for the next few days......sigh.

Ally having a haircut sounds almost back to normal!!! 8-) I've tried trimming my fringe today but not sure how straight it is!!

Have a good day, if you can xxx

Afternoon everyone :)

Early start here for SW, then we needed to pop to D's as I accidentally bought a few bits of her shopping home with mine on Thursday  Bit of an upset here as I didn't realise that Fraggle was under the footrest of the sofa, I pressed the button to lower it, he got caught and started screaming, I burst into tears and nearly passed out, Becky extricate him and have him a onceover, but luckily he was just scared and was unhurt! I still feel shaken, I thought I'd really hurt him :(

Gal, you really should get that looked at ((((x))))
