Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 12 Jun 2020, 04:56

Good morning.

Scorchio.

Off for a walk, back for a swim then relaxing with Don. His birthday yesterday was fantastic.

Conor came over late morning and took us out for lunch.

Jacob came over late afternoon and we had dinner out last night.

So tonight's dinner will be a simple salad.

Have a good day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Dull, grey but mild ish. Back to normal tomorrow - I hope

We have gravel coming this morning :Hi: :Hi: And we have told ourselves that we are now older, creakier and not as fit, so not to do it all in one day. What's the betting it's all done by tomorrow?

Will move a fern from a pot into the garden and put an aloe vera in a cracked pot into the pot the fern was in, The cracked pot will sit somewhere on the new gravel by the car port, with plants in them.

Not a lot else to do, just pottering.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Ally, I'm so glad that Don had a brilliant day :D The salad sounds sensible ;) :) xxx

Jan, I would say don't overdo it, but I know you will anyway ;) :P  xxx

It's grey here, although the forecast is for improvement tomorrow! No real plans, B is off work so we might go for a walk later :)

Have a good day everyone :) xxx

Good morning - rainio! Glad Don had a good day Ally. Take it steady Jan! Kaz and Cruiser it is grey here too but rainy too; very rainy in fact.
I've been out and got a paper and a joint of beef for Sunday and that's about it. Looking at the weather it certainly isn't a day for the garden.
Have a good one everybody.

Still waiting for the gravel, so the new plants are now in, plus a red carnation and I'm up and down into the field, collecting stones for Grumpy to make four flower beds for when the roses are big enough.

The sun keeps shining and I'm glowing  8-)

Afternoon all, it is grey and dreary here also and very windy. I drove Edward to the golf club, then when I got home, I went to the chemist to buy some birthday cards and to another shop to buy a birthday present. I needed presents for my nieces’ children too but last night, I ordered them some clothes from the Debenhams website, they arrive tomorrow, and then I can wrap them and post them off on Monday. I’m tired again today, so will take it easy for the rest of the day - I was warned that I could feel effects from the radiotherapy in the second week, but tiredness is easy to handle. Michael is coming down to play table tennis with Edward later, so maybe Miss Osc and Kellie will come too.

Good morning all - overcast and breezy here. rain threatened but hasn't arrived yet.

Exciting Days in Lockdown Part 84. The washing machine blew up.

Mrs O had completed one load and got it out on the line. When it came to the spin cycle of the second load, however, the thing went berserker. Well, it's 14 years old so it's entitled. It sounded as if the Air Ambulance was imminently about to land in our back garden, and the machine was shaking and rocking like it was having a bad trip from an illegal substance. Switched it off quick, luckily the sheets and bedlinen were pretty dryish so got them out onto the line.

If I am translating from the German correctly (it's a Bosch) we may be able to do washing loads without the spin cycle, which will be a good interim measure. We're hoping the local electrical store might open for visitors on Monday (or Monday week) so we'll probably wait till then and go see them rather than trying to choose something off the net. We do want to make sure they will install the new one and dispose of the old one; I know some of the larger companies will not do either at the moment (my S ran into this in Birmingham when her freezer gave up a few weeks ago). I'm counting on the fact that different rules probably apply in the Blackmore Vale.

Apart from that we have three days off before the lady painter resumes the fray on Monday. She will be tackling Ossie's room, so the bird may be off air for a couple of days (no cheering at the back, please! :D ) as the house is not configured with multiple internet / phone points.

Right, time for lunch - Bargain Hunt and Old Gobbler Sandwiches (out of date turkey slices). :?

Glad Don enjoyed his birthday celebrations, Ally.
Swop you the beef for the Gobbler, Crommers
Have a good day all.

Morning all :D

It was sunny when we woke up, very overcast and dull now, think rain's promised for the afternoon.

Glad Don had a good birthday Ally.
Hope the gravel turns up on time Jan.
How annoying about the washing machine Ossie, hope you find someone who will install a new one.

Another week's flown by, it's washing day. Main excitement is our Sainsbury delivery this afternoon. The e-mail says it's all there so looking forward to strawberries for pud this evening.

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Gravel just turned up., but we sent it back  Wrong colour

But we've planted 4 roses and I'm in the wars  Yes, I know I shouldn't wear flip-flops when walking around the garden, but I do and have cut my toe quite badly  Blood everywhere  Good job Ria sent us some steri strips  Used three and then plastered it all up.

The I dropped a plant pot full of soil

Think I'll do nothing this afternoon

Wise move to wait Ossie, you could always use the bath.

More sun than cloud now 8-)
