If he was on MI5's radar though you wonder if that conversion was just skin deep.
Regrettably, there's going to be hundreds of potential terrorists like that out there in society. My regret is that he wasn't shot dead, like the recent London terrorists. Although it's a terrible thing in itself, it always strikes me as the best outcome, and far better than going through all the legal trial shenanigans and then having to incarcerate him for 30 years or whatever, and putting up with all the human rights lawyers' appeals that will inevitably follow.
And whereas it's difficult to "send them back", Vic, I still feel that we should be far more rigorous in denying them entry in the first place. It's a huge failing in Government and their weak leadership over many years that nobody has ever got to grips with this. Asylum should never be a "right".
