Ria when she texted to let me know the change of salons I made it very clear I was anxious. Getting ready to go now, just hoping she keeps her word.

Good afternoon all, it’s raining here but isn’t anywhere near as windy as it has been .

I managed to get Bill a long walk and also to cut the lawns before the rain started. I’ve been over to the post office to post a birthday card too and learnt while in there that I could pay money into our Barclays account there. I’d got quite an amount of cash in my purse and had been putting off going into town and queuing to go into the bank to deposit it so that very easily solved that problem.

We’ve had a sad couple of days. My Uncle Rob, my favourite uncle and Godfather, died yesterday. He’d been in hospital over the weekend and my lovely Aunty and my cousins were called in at 5am on Sunday morning but he held on until yesterday morning. I dread to think how Jill, my cousin, was feeling, as she had to drive up from Windsor after getting the call. He’s had problems with his chest for some years (not entirely sure what, but his father was the same) and had been in hospital a few times but it still came as a shock. He was only in his early 70s and had always been so fit. He played tennis weekly until not too long ago, ran marathons when he was younger and was a regular jogger. John and the boys thought the world of him too, he was a good friend of John’s Dad as well and they worked together in the housing department at the council offices for many years. We will all miss him very much :(

Crommers, what a relief for you all!

Kaz, I hope D is okay today x

Ally...just saw on yesterday’s thread - 6ft??

Afternoon everyone :)

Ally, she's absolutely fine, apart from the huge black bruise on her chin - it look even darker today, I'm round there at the moment, we've had a sandwich and D is having 40 winks in front of the telly. Mind you the news is enough to do that to anyone ;) :cute:

Crommers that's great news, fingers crossed he gets the go-ahead 8-) :D

Jen I hope your haircut goes ok, my appointment is tomorrow and I admit to being a tad nervous, but desperation far outweighs the nerves :? ;)

Enjoy the rest of your day everyone :) xxx

Afternoon all, it is a miserable day here, raining since early on. I went to a nearby shopping centre, first time somewhere like that in four months! I ordered new prescription sunglasses and bought some shoes, and got petrol on the way back. Creeping back to something feeling a bit more normal. I did all the ironing yesterday, so maybe I’ll read my book this afternoon.

So sorry about your uncle, Jo xx

Good afternoon everybody,

I have been and had my haircut. I was first in the queue. There is only one barber. He said he came to the shop on Friday with his son to set evrything ready when he opened on Saturday morning.
He had stared cutting his son's hair when the police arrived. Someone must have reported him. The police left when the heard it was his son's hair he was cutting.
He only allowson customer in to wait while thereis one customer in the chair.
He puts chairs outside so other customers can site down while they are waiting.
Some of the hair which had been cut off was about three inches long.

Oh Jo I am sorry to hear about your uncle xx

Crommers great news about your FIL - hopefully you can get a place sorted for him now :)

Well here I am finally at the caravan! I've brought the laptop so I can come online but our wifi is not very strong, but it's working a bit so here I am :)

I'm actually fuming as I have spent much of this morning (I got here last night, long story which I won't bore you with but I've been home all weekend while Tom's been here alone, by choice) cleaning. The van is absolutely filthy - we were not the last people here, 'others' had closed it down for the season in November last year, we came up for one hour on March 1st this year, just to check it over and put the cushions all back, then 'others' were here again for the weekend March 6th and 7th......I mean I KNOW it usually needs a deeper clean than normal when it is first opened up, but really!!?? Ingrained muck/grease in the kitchen? There's a sun lounger missing, which I know for a fact was here when we were up last. D reckons there was only ever one - not!

Anyway I'll stop moaning, I'm on holiday after all :D

It's currently raining but it's been a lovely morning so far, and the ride up last night was beautiful, such a lush sunny evening. We have no plans for the week, I'd like a ride up to Holy Island this time and possibly Rothbury again, we'll wait and see. We popped to Alnwick for some grocery shopping earlier and called into the town for a coffee, things are starting to feel 'normal' again, if a bit different in regard to face masks etc.
