Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 22 Jul 2020, 05:26

Good morning.

Hot.

Just a swim this morning as I want to get to our outdoor market nice and early for fruit.

We had a super lunch with the twins yesterday and they ended up coming back to ours and we went out to Gambrinus for a drink which turned into dinner out.

They both stopped over last night as they met up with a group of friends and Victor who was celebrating his success at getting into the police force. :D

Masterchef tonight.

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Misty over the hills and valleys and a little cooler today. Back to more near normal temps for a couple of days, than back in the high 30's 8-)

Off to have blood sucked out this morning, both of us  , need to pay the bill for Evora Hospital, so will try and do that at the bank cashpoint - I normally have to ask for help  then onto Pingo.

Pit stop for coffee and check the post box on the way back, breakfast and think that's about it for today.

Depending on what I can buy - flan, chicken - is what we'll have for dinner tonight.

Hope the Kaz household had a decent nights sleep, without too much worry xx

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning you two, morning all

Ally, yesterday sounds like a perfect day - lovely. Enjoy the market this morning
Jan, hope you get everything sorted and good luck with the payment. And so what if you have to ask for help - at least you're trying which is more than most people in foreign countries do ;-)

Usual work day for me, but going to pop by a friend to drop off some material and my sewing machine and a spare mask I have to use as a pattern - but still need to source elastic for the sides - forgot to do that yesterday. If we have to wear masks in shops and on public transport then I'd like some prettier ones than I have now; one used to be a waffle dressing gown and the other definitely used to be a brown / green checked dishcloth in it's previous life. Totally functional, but really not very pretty at all - and I will be girly about this :D So the other day I found a top on sale very cheap that's made of 100% cotton and I'm going to cut that up for material. It's quite a coarse weave so will need a double layer of something else behind it, but hey - c'est la vie.

Hopefully a bit more pootling in the garden - didn't get anything done the other day. Worked all morning then Nadine popped round and we ended up nattering for hours  :D

Have a lovely day all x

Oh, the joys of Portugal

Clinic is supposed to open at 8.00, so those of us who have to do fasting before the blood taken get done early. She arrived at 8.25  :cute: Very apologetic, as always ;)

The first thing she did, after the alarm, was to put the tv on  then the coffee machine, then her computer  We were suitably santized beforehand, but she insisted she did it too, so far so good.

Took another half an hour for all the paperwork and tests to be sorted  Well, I had four pages of tests

we can pick up the results on Friday, but I told her we only go in to Ourique once a week, so we'll pick them up next Wednesday.

Did the payment, all on my own :Hi: :Hi: Dead chuffed, I don't do them very often and forget

In and out of Pingo and it wasn't until I got home and looked at the receipt to find out there was no IVA  so I'm going back on Sunday, to stock up on things like washing powder, loo rolls, beer and brandy 8-)

Feels a good 10C warmer than it is, so we're hunkered down inside, all nice and dark. Will get in the pool once breakfast has gone down ;)

Morning all :D

Another bright sunny day 8-)

Blimey Jan, what a palaver, hope the results are all good.

I'm driving E into town later, he's getting desperate for a haircut. The barber is just across the road from Waitrose so I'll park up there and wait for him, hopefully there won't be a big queue. We'll probably stop at the clifftop for a little stroll on the way back.

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Afternoon everyone :)

Jan, we're all fine thanks, trying not to worry until there's something to worry about! :? I've been cleaning, doing washing - B's uniform from yesterday went through last night, with a capful of Dettol in it! :cute:

I decided to not mention any of this to D - I wasn't planning to see her today anyway, so haven't had to either tell her, or make excuses as to why I wasn't going. She'd only worry herself silly about us, and we should get the result tomorrow at the latest.

Glad you got your tests done Jan, but that was a bit of a palaver ;)

Your evening out with the boys sounded lovely Ally :D

Good idea to make some nice masks Ria, reusable are better for the planet, I keep seeing the disposable ones just discarded, not in a bin, which is indefensible

E will be glad to get that haircut, Jen! :)

Enjoy the rest of your day everyone :) xx

I bought 3 lovely masks from the market.

A very pretty pink flowery one, one with sunglasses emojis and a pale blue one with dark blue dots.

It was a bit of a faff, but it was either wait for her to arrive or see if the other clinic was open and would take us without an appointment.
