When i go to the newsagent I am wearing a mask. It is one of the blue ones which most people seem to be wearing.
When we go shopping in supermarkets we wear masks which have been made by a lady who is a dress maker. We have three each. Well worth £4.00 she charges.
Usually sells the supply she has made the previous evening at home.

So I stood in the rain with my paper getting wet to wait, whilst waiting I put my reusable, bought from a charity, mask on. Along comes one man, oh I need a mask he says runs back to his car, comes back wearing mask and goes straight in shop. So now there are 4 people in the shop. Along comes a another man, no mask, walks straight past me and into shop, so now there are 5 people in the shop. The lady serving, catches my eye and smiles and shrugs. So It thought sod this for a game of soldiers, I'm just getting soaked so I when the couple came out I walked in. She served the others, including the man with no mask even though he had to look around her big poster saying you must wear a mask int his shop. When I was my time I said he wasn't wearing a mask, she just smiled and shrugged again. So to be honest it all seems a bit pointless. I hate it, but I will do as I am told, as on the whole I have all the way through, but it does really annoy me the inconsistency

This sort of stuff drives me mad. The inhabitants of our village seem to be three quarters idiots. They ignore the one way system in the Sainsburys local, wandering around like headless chickens, don't wear a mask, loiter in the shop gossiping to the staff when there is a queue outside, don't social distance...

It's been like that from the start of lockdown here, Crommers ... :|

They do seem a bit better at controlling numbers in the local shops, though, MM. If it's already "full" and you step over the threshold, you get barked at. The Post Office and the pharmacy are the main two establishments where you risk getting "slapped" ... :D

Just as a postscript to this thread ...

Master O has told me that the police have been in touch with him over his complaint , but unfortunately they can't take it forward because (you guessed it) the assailant was wearing a mask.

You couldn't make it up, could you? :)

 You really couldn’t.

I went over to the post office and then into the Co Op yesterday. They were both so quiet compared to how they usually are, the Co Op especially. I didn’t have to queue at all and usually there’ll be a few people waiting to be served no matter what time of day you go in.

I went to Aldi one night last week and noticed that they’ve now got a traffic light system on the door. Red light means you wait, green light means you can go in.

That's quite interesting, Jo. I wonder how it operates? Someone pushing a button (low tech :D ), or some sort of floor sensor or infrared beam to monitor goings out and comings in (high tech :geek: )?
