Good Morning Thursday

Postby JanB » 30 Jul 2020, 06:29

Morning everyone

Sunny and warm already. We are, apparently, warmer than normal - no kidding   - the last time we were this warm in the summer was 1931  I remember it well

Safe journey Ally xx

I had hope to be out weeding on the drive this morning, but we'll see, once I've had m coffee fix. Grumpy will be staining the new doors - apparently it was too hot to do it yesterday. He has painting to do too, but the paint will stay on the brush, in this heat.

Salad again for dinner.

Have as good a day as you can everyone xx

I was Saundra

Did the weeding, walked down the drive with water for the plants, spoke to the sheep, gave the weeds to the donkeys, walked down to the bin, spoke to the sheep again and then straight in the pool.

That's me done for the day now.

Hope it's just an allergy Saundra xx

Good morning all, a glorious sunny morning - yay!!!

Saundra, agree with Jan - hope the sneezing is just an allergy; feel better soon x
Jan, bet the donkeys loved the weeds - not much green for them their side, is there :( Did the sheep enjoy the conversation? :D

work this morning, pootling about, need to make a bolognaise sauce as the mince is in the fridge and has to be cooked today. Off to Nadine later today for nail appointment - the joys of a laptop, my work is mobile so I can work whilst there. And then whilst there we're going to peel and chop all the onions I harvested. I haven't got the space to store them properly so someone said they chop and freeze so I'm going to do just that - Nadine has a fancy Kenwood Chef that has a chopping function which will save time and crying   . Same with the garlic apparently; peel and freeze as is. Worth giving it a go because that will save loads of space.

Have a lovely day all x

Good afternoon all, it’s quite sunny here and getting warmer.

Saundra, I was the same with reading as soon as lockdown started, I couldn’t settle my mind to read, but a month or so ago I got back into it again.

Have a good day all :)

Afternoon everyone :)

Take it easy in the heat Jan, the pool is a good option ;)

Saundra, hope the weather brightens up for you xxx

Enjoy your nail appointment Dis :D

Lazing in the garden sounds good Jen :)

Jo, we have similar weather ;)

It's a scorcher here today, have been to Sainsbury's with D, had lunch on the decking with Mick, and am now avoiding the ironing ;)

Love to all :) xx

Good afternoon all. Grey here but warm and muggy.
Off to see Fil soon.
Good bit of gossip. MrsC went to the hairdresser yesterday and (along with the rest of the salon) was vastly entertained by the owner having a good old rant about her son's girlfriend.
Highlights included "She won't work", "cross little face", "ugly", "face like a slapped ar*e", "Ben pays for everything", "don't know what he sees in her", "moody" and "her sister tried to kill herself".
At which point the penny dropped - it is the youngest girl of the family opposite. The weird ones, the family with the 14ft conifer hedge, the family whose eldest daughter jumped out of the upstairs front window last year dressed in only her knickers.
And it's true, her son's gf doesn't work (she only had a short lived Saturday job after leaving school two years since), she does have a cross little face and her sister jumping out of the window was a suicide attempt (Imo more of a cry for help/attention seeking).
Very unprofessional? No doubt. But a mother can sometimes think "That girl isn't good enough for my boy" and in this case the mother may have a point. In fact she might be being a bit crafty, putting it all out there and hoping that word gets back to her son's gf, and that she'll flounce off!
Have a good day all.
