Afternoon all, not a very nice day here, cloudy and cool. I was at the gym this morning, I do enjoy being back there even if the class is limited to only 5 instead of the 12 we were before....it lacks some of the great atmosphere but we are getting used to it, and also most of us meet up for coffee each week. I’ll potter around for the afternoon, and just after 5pm, I’ll go and see our hairdressers who are retiring this weekend - I have flowers and a bottle of fizzy stuff for them. How will I ever get used to a new one :(

Sandra and Jo, I thought I would read voraciously during the lockdown, but read very little. Then once the library reopened, I was boom! back reading as much as ever, very strange.

Osc, it was the same with wool! I stocked up on loads for crocheting with and thought I’d actually get around to starting and finishing the blanket kit I bought last Winter but I’ve hardly done a thing.

Crommers, you may remember Tom’s girlfriend (Meggie) before Shannon. I wouldn’t say she wasn’t good enough for him, more like she wasn’t right for him and he knew our thoughts about her ;) I honestly don’t think he’d have stayed at university if they’d stayed together.

On the other hand, we couldn’t have been happier when he said that he and Shannon were together. We already knew her as one of his friends and flatmates and liked her a lot, and they’ve been together now for over three years and we think the absolute world of her. Same with Joe’s Amanda, we see both girls as much loved members of the family.

I read LOADS during lockdown - I had time, something I never have normally, and I found it a great distraction, once I started a book to really lose myself in it - it's a trait of mine to focus on something to the extent of 'nothing else matters', this time it was a definite advantage!!

So I nipped to Durham this morning, got a bit damp but it was only light drizzle at 10am, got a coffee in my regular cafe and the only difference to normal was no newspapers to read, and more tables outside....but it was very mild although I did sit in on account of the drizzle. Then up for food shopping, home at 2, it's always a full day out!! LOL!! I've done a mound of ironing and sorting out my nPower bill since (they took 2 monthly payments out in July, so I have got a refund, or at least going to get one!!)

Going to the caravan tomorrow after Tom's opticians appointment at 9, dropping Charlie off at Jen's en route (praying for no accidents this time, but I don't think we'll be lucky!!) and the weather is set pretty fair over the weekend B) B) B)

Have a good Thursday!! :D
